Hello ArtistFirst,
Sorry to hear about the crack. There was a thread here in the forum discussing this issue. Sorry I can't remember which one and can't provide you with the link. It was about a spring that holds the battery latch (or something like that) that might cause this crack. Try to search about it. Hope this helps.
DJI guys, can you make this thread read-only rather than delete? It's too good to just delete! Or just let it be! Let's see what develops.. BTW, I do not trust these forums... they lie!!! I am sure it's due to the latest firmware and app update! Please revert for all of us, but we not gonna call you and report the issue, or any details! Just do it! Else, we will return your drones to you, just like a tire in this timeless classic:
Thanks bud. Yeah, I had already seen that thread and couldn't find it either but I alread ...
No worries Adam.
I remembered that one of us on that thread tried to put some sort of absorber layer on the part that touches the cracked area of the battery door (from inside the battery). If I dare enough to crack open the battery then I would do this if I were you. And putting a thin layer of plastic-safe adhesive was also mentioned.
No, it comes down naturally as the hydrogen gas in the balloons is converted by the hydrogen fuel cell to generate electricity to run the camera and downlink. A lot harder to recharge now though...
I am working on a clockwork mechanism that plugs in to the aircraft in place of the battery. Then you can have several already wound up and ready to fly.
