Just curious, and only because it's been brought up, but do you recall if you had the Remote Control powered on or off while doing the firmware upgrade to the aircraft?  Some have said it makes a difference.

Im interested to see what dji say about this because the number of users reporting/having this issue with the upgrade to 1.9.60 is increasing dramatically every day.

Another one with same video transmission (1.9.60). Mine does that after the board gets really hot.
I did the fw upgrade with the remote turned off, then fallow the dji go app remote upgrade procedure...

No, the remote was off - the aircraft upgrade was done strictly as DJI recomends.

Just to add some information: as i didn't use the drone since March, my upgrade was done from 1.07 to 1.09. Most of you are doing the update from 1.08, right? Anyone knows about FW 1.08 causing any problem like the reported here?
The "flight away" issue is what worrys me the most... But DJI is saying it has nothing to do with the upgrade. Anyone knows anything more about this? What causes the "flight away" and what can be done to prevent it?

Fly aways are usually caused by not setting the home position. When I get signal transmission error on latest firmware it returns home. This is the default option in the DJI app. From memory I can still take photos and video when its flying back, just can't manoeuvre it.

I wish I had access to the hidden log file but I have already reformatted my SD card.  If I downgrade to 1.8.80 would the hidden log files show an error on lines 0800 and 1500 if the VTM is damaged?

It should.  I mean if it's bad, it's bad regardless of FW level... and will tell you pretty quick if you've got to send it back in or not.  Keep us posted..

Aircraft only..  RC fw is from a different source and battery update came in 1.9.6

what issues are you having and which firmware version are you talking about ?

post your issues on this forum as they are plenty of p3-standard/4k/advanced/pro users who would be more than happy to help with any questions/issues that you may have.

ok... so i bought my first drone AFTER trying out my friends, i LOVED it, So i went and bought a phantom 3 standard. worked right out of the box, NICE
i wanted to buy the Professional but funds were tight at the time, and i figured since i am a rookie, ANYTHING can happen so i bought the standard to get
some flying time and learn. i would rather wreck $500 them 1000. EVERYTHING WAS GREAT. DJI GO APP WORKED, i could fly everything, so after a while,
i came across a Professional model at a reasonable price... so i bought it. came home tried to connect it to my tablet and phone (which worked with my Standard)
Tablet being: insignia and phone being a zte grandmax. like i said both worked fine with my standard. but would not link with the pro. (call support) and i did some
checking and i was told i would need to update the firmware on the pro, so i did, hence where everything got hay-wired. i updated the P3 with Phantom 3
Professional Firmware v1.9.60 2016-06-13 And still nothing. My App wont go past the HOW TO CONNECT Page,  I then Hooked up my standard and AGAIN NOTHING.
it wont even connect to the dji go app. says ONLY (HOW TO CONNECT) dji go app is updated version and im clueless as what to do so now i have two DRONE paper
weights on my desk untill this is figured out. makes me frustrated for doing the updates on anything.... ANYONE GOT ANY CLUE HOW TO GET PAST THE how to connect
on the APP I am at wits end. Thx

can you give some advice on updating the controller? I was able to update the aircraft, camera and batteries but when I try to update the controller it gets to 35% and stops uploading. It will not read the SD car and it does nothing when I try to update it by connecting it right to the controller. Thanks

Hi. Buy a p3p and the first thing I do is update the firmware 1.9.60 and no video and errors updating the firmware. I have installed 15 times and still gives error. Send my query to the support DJI and I still have not heard about how to solve the issue. I still can not fly my p3p new

Please try to use this method and Force RC to update via the DJI Go app again.It doesn't hurt to try different devices:
* Turn on the controller, and the aircraft should be off.
* Press C1, C2, record and the wheel on the right side of the controller and then turn off the controller.
* Don’t let go of any fingers, and turn on the controller. Then the controller will be able to update again.

How do I downgrade from Phantom 3 Professional Firmware v1.9.60 to Phantom 3 Professional Firmware v1.8.80?

I see videos and info on how to do it for the RC, but for AC itself it just says same or older firmware and won't let me downgrade.

Normally it can be downgraded. But if your drone flies flawlessly, it is not necessary to downgrade and usually it is recommended to keep all the fw up to date.

When I bought my Phantom3 Professional I could fly until end of 2015 about 2,7Km far withou any issue on life-images or handling of the drone. And further, I am certain, but I did not do.
I have 2 waypoint-flightroutes created: since updates, I can only fly these waypoint-flightroutes blind: there is no steady life video signal as soon as the P3P is about 800m away.
In forum's I read: DJI REDUCED the Video-Transmission power with release of new firmware versions for Europe after November 2015 to fullfil CE regulations without having to make a new type-approval, result is LESS flight distance. I need to go back to frimware 1.6xxx. How can I do this?
DJI: Your answer is higly appreciated.
