I'm not sure why your aircraft will not take 1.9. Can you post a video of the process so I can see the the LED's and hear the tones?

I would gladly send you a video of this, but I didn't film it. For me to make a video I'd be installing a firmware that I know causes an issue with my Phantom. If I couldn't recover this time DJI would charge me to fix, even though it is there firmware causing the problem.

I bought mine May 2015 when they first were released. I've installed every firmware that was released with no problems until 1.9. I've seen a lot of people in the past with issues caused by firmware and they go though a lot of pain to get it resolved.

Mine is currently working now, so I'll wait till the next release. Which I'll install if I can do so without v1.9.

Myself and all the aircraft at work and all my friends who have a Pro/Adv have not had an issue installing 1.9. So that's why I was asking for a video, to see if I see anything unusual.
You can send it in and the repair shop can install 1.9 if you wish.

Updated my P3P the evening before yesterday as I was traveling and needed the P3P for some footage. Latest firmware installed successfully, batteries all updated, no update warning for the RC, and DJI Go is up to date.

I'm having a significant amount of problem with this firmware as the video stream gets heavily pixelated (Note 7 and iPhone 6 Plus) and in many cases, only half the screen is displayed. I have no idea what's causing this and it certainly wasn't the case with my older firmware.

Also, I've just noticed that with the new DJI Go, I can no longer find the AEB function (even pressing and holding down the shutter button doesn't open that menu as it used to), nor the option for a HDR shot, etc

I have the same issue with the new firmware update.  I do not appreciate beeing a '' beta tester site '' for a company that could buy me out more than 2000 times within a few seconds. That said, I understand that there could SOOO much '' code 18 '' issues  ( CODE 18 MEANS THAT THE PROBLEM LIES 18'' AWAY FROMTHE DRONE ) and it could be very frustrating for DJI to cope with these issues over a day period.
Now, back to my issue, the update process does not seems to complete itself, I tried to roll back to version 1.08 without success, I get the message (( same version on drone and SD card ) when I try to install version 1.09, It does not complete, the gimball shows a RED led color.

HELP !!!!!!!

So....Here's my issue and I am hoping someone can give me a little feedback.  My DJI DO App on my Android phone updated to version 3.0.0 today.  When I attempt to install the firmware update on my Phantom 3 Advanced to version 1.9.60 the txt log tells me it was successful and that it also failed since I was already at that update version.  When I start the transmitter and then the Phantom 3 Advanced I am told I need to install an updated firmware.  Any one have any suggestions?  Is it safe to fly with the app at 3.0.0 and the firmware for the drone itself not updated?  Thanks for the assistance and advice in advance

I just upgraded the radio to 1.8.0 and the app to 3.0.0, but my advanced already was at 1.9.60, so nothing to do. Did not fly yet, but all the settings and status seem ok...
You did restart your radio and the go app after updates?
Did you re-download the firmware and put it on the sd card and then the card in the camera sd slot? Did you boot up your drone with EVERY battery you own, to allow it to upgrade every battery to that fiormware version?
Can you post a screenshot of what is happening and perhaps the about screen like the one attached?I do not remebver how to check battery, i think you havce to go into battery menu and somewhere in there, but the main screen, if it's screaming about firmware, it should say specifically what it's unhappy about.

You are in the last version actually.

The remote controller update from the DJI app (internet connection required) to the last version 1.8.0 (actually). The 1.9.60 is the firmware version of the aircraft, and is the latest too.

I have phantom 3 advance...I use the latest firmware..1.9.6 and install DJI GO app 3.0.0 ...
i got problem with the new update which is got problem with the range.. i just can fly 300m only..then my signal of image transmission lost. sometime remote signal also lost and the A/C return to home..
i try to find the solution on youtube, find solution in forum, contact DJI Support but not resolve the problem..
i try to downgrade but there's no firmware available to be choose in DJI go app..
in 'about' the information of the A/C & R/C was "N/A"...

I'd suggest you to fly in a different area to see if it's the same or not.
It's recommended to adjust antenna to the optimal range during flight, and fly it farther firstly then raise the altitude.

already did that... the far thet i can go 400m only.. how about DJI GO cant recognized my A/C and R/C?

Could you please clarify what mobile device you are using?

Just did the upgrade and it crashed. Got a "Propulsion Output Limited, Overcurrent during Discharge (Battery) and Motor obstructed message." It completely lost control and fell out of the sky. What now?? Phantom 3 Pro. Camera snapped off the gimbal with major damage to the Drone.

Just want to add. In most instances anyone having range issues is not because of firmware. Its because DJI have decreased the amount of available channels to fly on from 32 to 8. This was done through DJI GO app update. That means ur drone has less chance of finding a stable non busy channel which is why u get short flight range. This happened since DJI Go app v1.0.2 for Appke and DJI Go app v1.0.7 for Android

Hi all,

I have only flown my new P3A once - and it seemed to go well. Was able to get some decent range, even with interference around from apartment buildings.

On the tablet I'm using I have WiFi turned off as to not get interference - but just now while at home and connected to WiFi, the DJI GO app said 'updates available'.
It says:
App: 3.0.0
Version: 1.5.30+
Remote Controller: 1.6.0

1.6.0 seems ok for the RC - but 1.5.30+ seems pretty old for the aircraft?

My question is - should I update? Is there any gains to be had? Or is it pointless if the aircraft appears to be flying normally?

It seems 1.8.80 is a good version to have - but if I do an auto update it will update the aircraft to the latest 1.9.6 which from what I've read has various issues?
Can anyone confirm if doing the steps below will work? Allowing the RC to update to the latest, and the aircraft to be on 1.8.80:

With the aircraft off, plug in controller to phone/tablet and power it on.
Open DJI GO app
Touch the 'Firmware upgrade required' at the top in the aircraft status bar at the top and click 'Updates required at the top'.
Follow instructions to upgrade the RC firmware.

Once completed, format the SD card using the DJI GO app.
Plug SD card into computer and copy 1.8.80 .bin file to the root directory.
Plug SD card into aircraft, and without the RC on, turn aircraft on and let it update itself off the SD card.

Will that work? Is it advisable?

When i was running FW 1.8.8 on my Nvidia i had no issues with the lightbridge video quality. I had issues upgrading to FW 1.9.6 and had to send the drone back to the shop i brought it from for them to do the upgrade. I also upgraded my Nvidia K1 and my Samsung S5 to 3.0.0

Now i am getting bad interference when i fly and lose connection to the drone. I was talking to DJI and they sent me a link to downgrade the app to 2.9.1 which i did on both Android devices but still have the issue of bad interference, losing connection and poor range

I have a question, I bought, about a year ago to batteries that must have been made by someone other than dji. They worked fine when I bought them but after a firm ware update and 200.00 bucks later they won't work. Is there a fix for this or am I screwed out of 200.00 bucks? Not happy!

yes sounds just like my problem see video above. Is this what you are getting too?

I have the Dji P3A .after updating my dji go app  when I go to About to see aircraft and remote FW it shows N/A .
can someone tell me why im getting this  ? it used to always display before I updated the app

I'm still on the 1.2.6 version for over a year. I don't fly much but maybe once a month.
Couldn't keep up with the updates.

Can the OP update the first post with the IOS and Android DJI GO APP version numbers please.

Just done the controller update and works well apart from the follow me doesn't seem to work at all any ideas ?

Hi if you do all the step of the tutorial, download the zip firmware put it on your sd card and the sd card in the gimbal slot and not. Working....now search on YouTube How to force the réinstal of the firmware and just do it. It's very simple good luck!

It is time for you to give us the new firmware update
I bought one used a couple weeks ago and it flew great until I did the firmware update to version 1.8
Now I have a week or glitchy video signal when it says I have 100% video signal but yet it still goes in and out after a very short distance
Before you tell me to go fly in a different place and jump through a bunch of hoops I have been flying from the same place before and after the update
I have also tried everything that everyone suggested on every forum known to man
I have been following this thread and you seem to suggest it is not the firmware but all these people can't be wrong
It is time for you to acknowledge that there is a problem and fix it
People already have hundreds if not thousands of dollars and you are telling them to send it back to you so you can look at it
That's ridiculous when it is obvious that it's a firmware issue
FIX IT PLEASE!

I'm thinking that GEO may be coming out of beta and this is a part of the prep for public release of the full functionality. I read here and on one of the other forums that DJI had notified them recently via email that the release of GEO was imminent. This has not yet been confirmed as far as I know.

I'm having issues with the newest firmware too....  I definitely lost a significant amount to of range.. the firmware I was running I installed back in August of 2015 and I should have left it! 1.5 years and had no issues after the botched firmware dji pit out on may 2015.. my p3p sat on the shelf til august that year til they released a new firmware.. and once I installed it my problems with vision positioning, range, and sudden 50 meter free falls were solved and dji was telling me and everyone else we needed to send our p3's in for repair! I didn't though and waited for new firmware instead which solved all my issues from that botched update.. people were crashing due to it to and dji was telling all these people pilot error which was crap...  now once again my p3p is shelved until better firmware comes out.. dji made it possible to roll back firmware after all the issues in may 2015 and I could do that but I would have to spend 20+ min rolling back each firmware 1 by 1 and I've gotta go thru at least 5 updates to get back to where I was and I think 1 of the firmwares I need to roll thru is no longer on the dji site to download...  

I'm lucky to get get 500 meters distance now flying in the country.. city population of 350 people so there is definitely no signal clutter and I was able to go 3km or more in this area and could have kept going if 8 wanted too...  but now 500 meters.. right after doing the update.. so I'm sure it's my issue!

I'm so tired of all the dji firmware issues.. that's why I'm still flying a p3 when the p5 is about to be released...  once my p3 flies as good as its suppose to, then I will think about upgrading to the newest phantom....

Why not DJI App link to upload videos to YouTube or have a options to save on iCloud?

Also my suggestions if on a flying app The aircraft Arrow Color switching choice available would be great  it hard sometimes with white arrow sun glares.!
