The log you are posting is not the hidden log file. But if your about page  1.8.80+ then you are fine.

I upgraded the firmware on my Phantom 3 PRO, but is says I now have version 1.6.0. I was sure to download the right upgrade. Shouldn't it say I upgraded to 1.9.60? What did I do wrong, considering the fact that I am certain that I used the upgrade that is labeled 1.9.60?

Just updated my p3p and found the climb rate is 3m/s max. Is there a setting to get it back to 5m/s?

I flew mine yesterday but didn't pay close enough attention to observe any climb rate changes.  Can one of the DJI reps please confirm whether or not the maximum climb rate has been reduced?

I think i'll wait and see how this works out for others before i update.

I don't know why there are so many complaints about firmware upgrades. From the day I got it, I followed the instructions and have not had a problem with any installs. Yesterday I upgraded to the latest. I went to a large field and flew it close in while putting it through its maneuvers. Everything checked out and I had two more great flights. It files as smoothly and reliably as ever including the RTH when I lost transmission. I have learned to love this bird.

Not sure if you or anyone else had issues updating your additional batteries or not, but I did... First battery updated along with aircraft firmware. But when I powered down and then put in second battery it would not upgrade. When I checked battery status in the Go app it showed that the battery required upgrade. I then removed the SD card from gimbal, put back into computer and deleted the .txt file leaving the .bin file on the SD. Inserted SD back in gimbal with the battery that still needed upgrading, powered on and the upgrade started in a few seconds and only took a minute to complete. I then powered off, removed 2nd battery and inserted the 3rd battery then powered on and firmware update did not begin on 3rd battery. Went through above process again and deleted the .txt and then 3rd battery updated. Conclusion... My additional batteries would not upgrade as long as the .txt file was still on the SD card.  Even though I was powering down and inserting the additional batteries to be upgraded, the firmware upgrade for the batteries would not begin as long as the .txt file was on the card. Once delteed, the additional batteries upgraded within 1-2 minutes each.

Interesting.. so u removed the txt file after each update and that allowed it to move on? Wild! I have 3 batteries and had no issue.. not that I noticed anyhow.
Both red and green blinked for may 2 min, then just green. The log confirms 3 upgrades.

Yeah for me when I powered on the additional batteries, the gimbal led did not light at all and Phantom just sat there and never initialized the firmware upgrade for the additional batteries. Once .txt was deleted, worked as it should and upgraded additional batteries. Weird, but got it to work...  Phantom and all my batteries are now upgraded and status is normal.

What can I say, glad u got it.. as to why.. watch the next upgrade I guess! If issue happens again, then u might want to really follow it up. You could contact dji, maybe the have some ideas? U can also display hidden files on the sd card, and snoop around there, but I would not know what to look for.

I mention deleting the txt file in post 98 it seems not to be a problem with everyone.

Since there were recent revisions made concerning the Battery in cold weather environment, did the Beta Admin restore the performance in the P3 that was taken away during the v1.5.7 update?

To be specific; in FW v1.5.7 if the outside temp was below around 65-70f degrees, the P3 was programmed to reduce the amount of Stick Input thus reducing available power altogether. The result was the overall speed was limited, and almost impossible struggle against any headwinds above 15mph. Obviously the restriction was a Band-Aid to existing poor programming of the DJI smart battery. For those that may have forgot, this took place during the time several aircraft were dropping from the sky because once battery resources reached the point in which the aircraft was suppose to auto-land. However, it was shutting off and dropping.

So again my question is....., Was performance restored in update v1.9.60?

After updating my Phantom 3 Pro, my hidden P3X_FW_LOG_AB.txt is showing exactly the same entries as yours.

And after updating my other Smart Flight Batteries, the hidden P3X_FW_LOG_AB.txt shows the entry of device [11 00] needed upgrade, and indeed was upgraded. The 2 entries of device [11 01] remained the same as yours.

As only device [11 00] was upgraded every time I updated the Inteligent Flight Battery, and the concerned device [11 01] shares the same prefix, I suspect that both are relating to the Inteligent Flight Batteries. Please note that for the second version checking entry of the device [11 01] in the log, the version did have been change to v1.8.0.0, i.e. same as the updated version of the device [11 00]. It is strange.

I haven't test fly my Phantom 3 Pro after this FW update. If everything is fine, I will just leave it as-is.

But I would appreciate if DJI can clarify this device [11 01] and the observations from the log entries.

Those are codes for DJI, you do not need to worry about those.If a battery needs an update the app will notify you.

video transmission and distance.. its safe to see the 4k leans more toward the standard than the advanced or pro

Been over this with tele support from DJI.  When I correctly follow the Firmware update my Phantom 3 Advanced merely retains its green camera status light and no results folder is generated.  DJI told me if it does not preform the update, even though with them inspecting the bin file and overseeing my procedure is to send it in.  Drone performs beautifully. Have a total of just under 6 hours flight time in the last 10 days from new.  Does anyone have and ideas how to solve this?

It looks like the P3A may not be seeing the bin file at all. Just a thought but did you format the SD card using the DJI Go app or in your PC?  If you didn't do so already then try formatting it using the DJI Go app (while it's in the P3A) and then coping the bin file to it via the PC. FYI, my P3A updated with no issues at all using this method.

i had issues when i first purchased the bird as well. what solved mine was i formatted the sd card then began update on RC then after that the aircraft started on its own randomly. give it a shot!

Hi Folks, I just discovered something that may help the Phantom 3 ADVANCED folks who are not getting their ship to start the UPDATE process.  Many of us have followed the process to the "T" with the USB method of copying the file to the card or placing the card in the computer after formatting in the ship, copying the bin file and reinsterting into the camera body card slot booting up and nothing happens other than the green status light on the camera body stays solid and NO "results" file is created.  I tried this almost 10 x finally spoke to DJI tech with them telling me to return the unit for service. ( I have owned it for 10 days, with 6 hours of flight time...and it flies great so I was looking for another answer....

Eventhough tech told me I did have the correct file it turned out because I followed the link on the forum. and the ALL IN ONE nomenclature lulled me a bit, I was actually downloading the UPDATE FILE for the Phantom 3 PROFESSIONAL... P3X_FW_VOL1.09.0060- SEE THE X after the P3, THIS IS FOR THE PROFESSIONAL NOT THE ADVANCED...THE CORRECT FILE IS-
P3S_FW-VOL1.09.0060 ... See the "S".   

Secondly,  After I copied it over with the ship powered of course and then disconnected the usb to my computer... NOTHING HAPPENED ANY DIFFERENTLY!!!  OH NO.... But wait .  I powered the ship down, waited about 10 seconds and powered it back up.  Reboot was normal for about 5-10 seconds and then it started the led began to blink alternatively red and green and a soft da. da. da. da. (four sounds like morse code) started repeating.. OMG....Took about 10-15 minutes max and then Green light came on solid.

Powered off, reconnect my laptop, powered up the ship.  Looked at the card root directory with hidden files reveled and their was the results file. Opened and "SUCCESS"  wow!!!

Rebooted a couple of times to check with the controller on as normal all good!!!

Maybe this will help a few folks, hope this happy accident of mine is of assistance.

OK, I'm a Dummy! I tried and tried I don't know how many times to upgrade, exactly as the video posted at the beginning, here. I pulled the USB cable out of the Gimble without first "Ejecting" it, at least 10 times, with no upgrade. The very first time I ejected the Phantom from the computer, it upgraded perfectly!

OK, in hope of maybe helping someone...

My rc is on 1.6 version, I have the latest dji app on my Android. nothing needed there.
My drone was on 1.8.80 firmware.
I downloaded the newest firmware from here:

Then on my PC I unzipped the file, and got the .bin file from it:
P3S_FW_V01.09.0060.bin
I took my microSD card from the drone, then formated it (I am in windows) as Fat32 (I have a 32GB card).
I put the P3S_FW_V01.09.0060.bin file in the root of that sd card.
Then, with RC off, i just put the card into the slot on the camera in my P3Adv and started up the drone, it does it's initialization, few extra things, then starts beeping and the lights on the camera alternate red/green. This takes 10-15 minutes, then the light on the camera is green (cannot remember if steady or blinking).
At this point i turn of my drone, replace the battery and repeat the process - now it takes only about 5 min. I repeat it for the 2 extra batteries I have.
When done, i get the card back onto my PC and check the .txt file, which confirms that I actually updated 3 times, as i have total of 3 batteries. I reformatted the card again, just to get a clean start.

I have heard of people having to remove the .TXT file after each uptdate, i have also heard of people having to reformat the SD card and put the .bin file on again, for each battery update.

If your RC is on a version older than 1.6, it needs an upgrade, and that should happen via the GO app, at least on android. Not sure on iPad....

Once the RC is at 1.6 and the aircraft is at 1.8.80 or the current 1.9.60, things should work, but if you do not get a green light on your RC you may have to link it again, and there's bunch of tutorials on that, just google it.

If you have issues with the tablet connecting, make sure you have the latest dji app. If the RC LED is green and u can control the gimbal with the dial, the issue got to be on the tablet (remove and reinstall dji app - AFTER SYNCING FLIGHT RECORDS...?) If LED is RED u need to relink.

This is what worked for me... hope it helps someone....

When u r all done, confirm in DJI app, menu, (...) about, and confirm your versions of djiApp, RC software version, and drone firmware version.

Which iPad are you using, you need at least an iPad Air.
If you are using at least that then please post the hidden log file from the SD card.
If it says module 8 and 15 "Device Not Detected" then you will need to send it in for repair as the video transmission module has been corrupted.It would look like this.
If you've reformatted the SD card then reattempt the firmware and then get the hidden log file from the card.

#DJI-Ken, I m university student and I worked so hard to buy a DJI drone and I was a like dream machine to me.. and still I hope DJI makes best out of the world, and I bought this P3S for my educational purposes and I was so good without any problem until this 1.6.8 firmware upgrade..  and right after the upgrade I can only fly 40-60m only without loosing radio signal.. tried everything.. everything means everything.. and like you guys said, I can send the drone to DJI for warranty, But i Send it normal air mail, When it come back from DJI, our custom will stop it for sure, and I will have to go lot of places to fill forms to clear it, and even though i m not sure if I will be able to get the drone, so the only thing I have is to do, sending it through the one and only DJI Dealer in Sri Lanka, and they ask like $150 for shipping it, it is like 33% of the whole drone cost and it may be a small amount for you guys but In Sri Lanka, a small family can live up to 1 month from $150. they asking that much of amount just for shipping, with the campus fees and other thing I really can not afford that much of amount..  

and that is not the worst case, as I said I bought this for my educational purposes and I m following IT BSc Hons degree sp. in Videography and multimedia, and I have mini movie to create ASAP to pass my this semester and I really need a drone for that.  and if can not do that i will have to  another year to do a repeat and it will waste all the money I spent for this semester. I even can not hire a drone because normally they ask like $50-$80 per 30 min of shooting.. I don't know what do, and I don't want anyone to happen this, that is why I told that other new guy not to update his drone.. I m so desperate now..

I am very sorry you are experiencing this.
Can you reset the WiFi per the manual and also make 100% sure you have the antennas in the correct orientation.
