Hello nilsblix, unfortunately FLY856.DAT doesn't contain a flight. It would be better to sync your ...

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/17030883/FLY858.DAT

I have no logged files from FW 1.8
When I downloaded the hidden files again today it was nearly nothing there, but still it took 1,5 hours. But I think R&D should have plenty of files from users now

All you need to do is re - load the most current FW that is on the Aircraft- It wont take very long to load  .  Be sure to use a formatted SD card and  Make sure you have the correct aircraft FW, the version numbers look alike so be careful, triple check.
The files you have are not the ones needed, it is very easy if you have access to a PC

Then follow my instructions that are on the link for viewing hidden files on a PC.

Thank you, Paladin.

I would like to provide the following Dropbox shared DJI GO App flight record txt files (obtained from Ipad Air) and corresponding aircraft flight record DAT files (obtained from Inspire 1 Pro aircraft) for your downloading and passing to DJI's R&D team for diagnosing:-

Flight with FW v1.09.01.10 flew on 19 Jun 2016 at 8:55am
DJIFlightRecord_2016-06-19_[08-55-20].txt
FLY392.DAT

Flight with FW v1.08.01.00 flew on 28 May 2016 at 9:46am
DJIFlightRecord_2016-05-28_[09-46-22].txt
FLY360.DAT

I had already sync my flight records to the cloud via DJI GO App two days ago. I do not know how to send you my DJI account (the email address) - How can I send Private Message (i.e. PM) to you?
Anyway, I trust the above Dropbox shared flight record txt files are the synced flight records you were looking for.

Thank you. Looking forward to receiving DJI's findings.

Hi, Donnie,

I think nilsblix in post #81 was referring to the situation that there was not any flight record DAT file which was generated from previous flight with FW v1.08.01.00 available from inside the Inspire 1 aircraft for nilsblix to download, probably because of the limited aircraft internal SD card capacity (4GB) rendering all those flight record DAT files with FW v.1.08.01.00 been overwritten by the more recent flight record DAT files with FW v1.09.01.10.

Still on 1.8 here and very leery of 1.9.

Question for those that have loaded 1.9 and have had issues (without crashing).

I'm very curious to know if the (same) problem(s) with un-commanded ascents occur in flight simulator mode?
Thanks,

Thank you for trying to help, but :
I am not supposed to provide Dji with the hidden files on the sd card - I am supposed to provide the data logs inside the internal memory of the Inspire. That is a total different prosess from what you describe. My files here are the .dat files stored inside the craft itself. Go futher up in this thread to se how to optain them on a mac.

Yes, I also have the same problem; specifically with the notification of "Ultrasonic System Error".

I have consulted with DJI support and then being forward to DJI GKAS that advice me to bring my Inspire 1 Pro to the authorized dealer in my home country.

Unfortunately, there is no DJI repair center in Indonesia and the GKAS told me, that if I want to have proper check and repair of thw aricraft, I need to ship it to Hong Kong at my own cost.

Want your story in writing from DJI before I even belive a word of it -  ...

it was over the phone. I called to see if they had heard of this new issue happening and asked what to do. I was lucky enough to land the aircraft back down after having it shoot off into the sky without command. It was still controllable but it continued flying in what ever direction the last stick command was given. Ive never experienced any problems before. After seeing how many others are having the same issue its hard to believe its not a firmware issue.  They completely disreagarded any other complaints and just kept saying that it was due to moving the aircraft from inside to outside to quickly, to let the bird idle for 5-10 minutes and to make sure its calibrated!!! Im fairly new to owning the inspire but I do not see how this i possible! I will be recording all calls to dji from here on out and asking for names. 4k just sitting on a shelve I hope to be back in the sky soon!

Thanks for your courage to upgrade and be DJI's guinea pig, we appreciate it. I learned my lesson with DJI updates, if the current FW  works, leave it alone.

Exactly why I am about to spend $6K in another aircraft (never DJI again!) to expand my commercial fleet.
Serious issues with DJI FW updates and apparent lack of thorough flight testing before rushing to customers...

I updated to 1.9 when it came out and did the IMU calibration afterwards. Did a compass calibration prior to the next flight and had three uneventful flights with 1.9 loaded. I really would love to know why some are having issues and others, such as myself, are not. For the moment, I'll just let the I1P sit and wait till I hear a logical rationale for all of this.

I have far less than 800 flights on mine but not a single issue until I ran the update. I always us the auto take off feature and have always had the same results. 4-5 feet and stable. Have tried only 2 take offs since the update but both continued up well beyond the 4-5 feet and I had to throttle all the way down to stop the ascent and get it safely back to the ground. I will not fly it again until there is a solution to the problem as I'm sure DJI wont offer to replace a fly away for free.

Yes they will - it is very strange. A lot of people have upgraded without issues and the issues are not there all the time. I updated as usual the very same day the 1.9 was out - then fly the day after - a lot of trouble. Then downgraded to 1.8 - fly perfectly - so upgraded again to 1.9 just to se the problems reappears. Now back on 1.8

This will not hold me off upgrading again as I strongly belive to be on latest FW and SW

I took the screenshot when the aircraft near to landing, since I am so busy and panic when the aircraft when crazy with the sudden and drastic altitude gain.

I believe that I flew in clear environment (far from electricity power cable, in open field, far from frequency disturbance, etc.). The battery said that I need to have full cycle, hence I fired up the aircraft just to discharge the battery to the recommend notification on the DJI Go app (discharge to 5% or below), and I found out that to have aircraft in the air is the best way to discharge the battery. The problem occurred again with full charged battery.

Hi
I upgraded to 1.09.01 but would like to downgrade to V01.08.04
I have loaded V01.08.01 onto SD card and put it into the X5R and it is not working and I am getting the text file below

Packet: WM610_FC550R_FW_V01.08.01.40.bin
Result: Abort.
The firmware on the SD card is identical to or older than the current firmware on the device.

Could anyone recommend how to downgrade to V 1.08.01 from V01.09.01 successfully
I am using the X5R version of fw as I have the X5R camera attached to the Inspire and I have the remote control off.
Thanks

My observations with fw 01.09.01.10.
After updating the firmware:
Did IMU Calibration.
Gimbal Calibration.
RC Sticks calibrating.Prior to flight did a compass calibration, checked GPS, checked batteries as well as IMU values.

Manual take off, settiled in hover while playing with my lens calibration.
While in hover, without any inputs from me the Inspire started a desent (about 3 - 4 meters) and then gently recover.
This happened twice.

Did a second flight without any issues, also ckecked how landing gear behaved, all normal without any issues.

Two things I've noticed with new 1.9 firmware:

1)  Camera will shift out of focus randomly while set to MF / Infinity in the Go App.  Camera focus switch is set to AF.  Shot will hold focus for a few minutes, then simply jump out of focus even though the indicator is still showing the focus is set to the infinity symbol.  Re-tapping infinity brings the shot back in focus.  Didn't happen with 1.8

2)  And this has been going on since I purchased the I1 Pro in April, but the camera will list left or right on its own ever so slightly when sitting still on the ground.  I noticed it again tonight after landing.  You can see on the Go App screen that its moving then it stops.  Perhaps I need to calibrate the gimble?  I have not calibrated the ICU and gimble after upgrading to 1.9.

Me too. Reverted back to 1.8 - flights were normal.

As I have previously posted, these updates from the DJI Casino are no better odds than the good old money wheel!

Of concern to me is the randomness of these events. It makes no sense that an update can affect a small percentage yet so many post that all is OK. This in itself is frustrating as it makes those affected look like they have possibly done something wrong and are possibly related to the village idiot. Using my Inspire for professional purposes, it concerns me every time it is launched now as to how it is going to behave and if it will return without issue.

I have been affected by two updates now and frustratingly, have had NO logical explanation from DJI as to the root cause. Both instances EVENTUALLY resulted in a replacement (thanks DJI) BUT no explanation was ever given by DJI as to what caused the issues in the first place despite many emails requesting this.

This forum is great in sharing knowledge and information. I wish DJI would let us know what causes these RANDOM update failures on supposedly exactly the same craft. It has been occuring since the Inspire was first released. "I have done the updates and have had no issues" is simply a BS answer from DJI and infers stupidity on those affected.

All the best to those with the 1.9 issues.

Regards Wolf

It's starting to look as though DJI doesn't want to be in the Professional UAV market - not only with insufficiently robust firmware releases - but with unlockable 'restricted' zones that you can't get round even if you have ATC permission.   I upgraded before spotting all this on the forum - and with a big 2 day job coming up, I'm wondering if I should downgrade.  Just off for several test flights now - so will see how it goes.
If anyone from DJI is reading this - can I suggest you create Beta test circles, like Microsoft do for their OS development.  That way - you get robust firmware testing (for free) - the people who like to be cutting edge can try them out; and the people (like me) who just needs stuff to work - can wait until all the bugs are sorted.  I'm seriously looking at other manufacturers now.  Reliability is not an optional extra when you have a client looking on...
