Personally I would have taken the bird into the water park and kept it close by.

Would not be surprised if the security guard knows something.

Yep he probbably related with that burgler... I would do it as well if i got another chance. Very expensive lesson for me.. Hope you guys going to learn something from me.. Never leave any personal belongings in your car, any time.

There's nothing really you can do. Most of the times when something like this happens, it's because the guard is involved (as bad as it sounds). And you probably had a sticker of your rental car company, and it's as easy as triying to open all those rental cars because they know that you are a tourist and that you're probably carrying valuable things. I was lucky in Tenerife as I also left a couple of times my p3p in the car...

Don't give up on flying, but I'd condiser giving up on ever finding it. Don't let it consume your thoughts, because it can just make the loss drag on. Losing a personal electronic item in another country ? It's gone, just let it go. IMHO You need to get back on that horse, buy a new Phantom and the pain will be gone.

Please confirm that.  When I called state farm and I asked for a written policy, they only cover theft in the primary residence!

There is nothing worse than thinking you are covered, and then to find out you are not, after you need the coverage!
True liability and loss is covered at higher rates from other companies who specialize in UAV, drones.  But those cost close to $500-$1000/yr, depending on the amount of liability you want.

I think your own vehicle is considered part of your primary residence, but not a rental car?

It covers everything! If I crash it...I get a new one! It does not matter if it is my error or not!

I almost feel sorry for the thief.....but not quite....Karma is no joke

Most travel insurances covers theft from cars if its hidden in the trunk and not over night, so you should make a claim.
I lived 6 months in GC, and i can tell you reporting this to police is just a waste of time, they wont even lift a finger to try and solve this, they will just receive your report and trash it, sadly but true, the have bigger fish to fry there, and no resources for other stuff....

Is it possible that State Farm has different policies in different states?  In NY, I am told that their $40 - $60 policy only covers theft.  I got this information after I asked them to see the policy in writing.  Initially they told me everything is covered!
