Hi! I have a Phantom 3pro, and have for the last couple of days been trying to update the firmware to the latest version. This is the first time I update, even though I had it since last summer. The drone itself updates fine, but the controller does not. The light never turns blue.

I have tried updating via USB-stick and by hooking it up to the drone. Nothing. I tried a factory reset of the controller, and then I got a blue light, but it didn't work to update it afterwards anyway.

Anyone knows a solution?

turn the rc on hooked up with tablet via usb, then turn on the p3p on, tablet should say update press button to update . make sure you have batterys charged for update on all 3 devices. good luck and happy flying

Yeah, but it says my firmware is too old to update via the app, that I have to update manually with the usb/sd-card method.

is your dji go app updated as well check what version in playstore if using android

The app is version 2.8.1, and I don't have the option to upgrade, so I suppose it is the latest version. I have a Samsung Note 3, if that makes any difference.

not really sure but if it was me , i would retry re-linking rc to p3p. possible factory reset rc is not communicating.with the psp. my rc only updates when p3a is on, never could get rc to update using usb

Tried this, no difference.

Solved it! Had to upgrade to 1.3.20 first, after that it was smooth sailing.

Sorry to bother you, but how did you update to 1.3.20? USB? Flash? The bird?

I'm stuck in the same boat you are and currently stationary....please let me know any other steps
