Hey It's me again with another question. So, I was reviewing footage from yesterday, and for some reason as I was flying left (with repect to where the camera faces) and panning up, my gimbal violently twithed (like a hard barrel-role). I was flying in P mode on a very calm day. Any ideas why? it's the first time this has ever happened to me. If theres maybe a different thread that I couldn't find in regards to that topic let me know.

Sounds to me like you have some dirt particles snagged in the mechanism.  Does the gimbal operate smoothly by hand when powered off?

There is something definitely wrong with that gimbal if everything is connected and calibrated correctly.
Please contact support and have it sent back.

i had a similar issue but it just glitched out and tilted down but didnt last very long

Camera warranty is 6 months.

It happened once and it hasn't happened since. The gimbal feels silky smooth still. I'm uploading the clip now.
Edit* I went back, and should the camera gimbal make a crackling noice when you tilt it up and down? perhaps there is some dirt inside it? Could I air compress it out and see if it helps? The movement is still really smooth, it just sounds funny.

Oh man, no mine was much smaller. It was a surprise when trying for smooth filming

It happens at about 12 seconds. I want to make sure its not a problem that will spin out of control in the future.

What's your phantom 4's current firmware? Any hard-landing or crash before?

No, there shouldn't be any noise when you manually move the gimbal. You can try blow it with air. If the sound persists, you may have to return it for repair.

The firmware is the most current (at least from what the app tells me), at v 01.01.0411. I have not seen it happen in any of my other videos. I may try and use compressed air to see if it help. Again, aside from the sound, the actual motion and fluidity of the gimbal is perfectly fine. However, I don't want it to progressively get worse and end up severely damaging the components. No hard crashes or landings from before. I recently recalibrated all the IMU censors about 3 flights before this, and all the sensor readouts where optimal.

Here is a clip from my phone. In the middle is where you can hear it best (11 seconds). It also clicks, which to me seems more mechanical.

I've confirmed this with our R&D and this issue will not influence the normal operation of your drone. We will  keep optimizing our products.
