I read in the specs that the a3 supports iosd mini. I know the a3 has built in osd that works with light bridge 2 but how does the iosd work with A3. Were would it even plug in?

It would connect to the CAN1 Port on the A3. You can refer to the A3 Manual for further information:

The A3 manual has nothing explaining how to wire the iosd mini to A3; I have searched all the forums and con not find anything. the iosd mini has the main hardwired plug that can not plug into any port on the A3. than it has the can bus port but as far as I know plugging the canbus port into the A3 will not work. Do I need to buy a special cable and do I still have to use the NAZA V2 PMU module? Please can you sh me a diagram if possible. Thanks

Please refer to page 14 and 5 of the A3 manual. Page 5 with the Port Diagram indicates that the CAN1 Port is designated for the GPS-Compass along with other DJI Products, such as the iOSD Mini. Page 14 shows that when you connect to the GPS-Compass Pro puck, you will have the CAN1 Extension Port (page 6) to connect the iOSD Mini to.

You do not use the NAZA V2 PMU module, as that is solely for the NAZA V2 Flight Controller.

Once you have connected it to the CAN1 Port, you would then follow the iOSD Mini manual for further connections to your FPV system.

There is no real difference between installing the iOSD Mini on an A3 or a NAZA V2. It does, however, require reading and understanding the manuals of your respective components in order to install properly.

Thank you! I thought the connectors were different on the A3 than on the iosd mini. Only problem I have now is the iosd mini wont power up when plugged into the expansion port on the gps antenna. I test the iosd by plugging it into old Naza V2 PMU module and it turns on just fine. But when connected to expansion port on A3 GPS antenna I dont get any lights on the iosd. Just to clarify, are all the components up to date with the latest firmware? Have you confirmed that you have plugged the A3 correctly to their respective CAN Ports?

I just updated iosd to 1.06 and a3 says its up to date. And yes i plugged iosd into expansion port on a3 gps antenna.

Maybe I plugged the gps antenna in can-bus 2 by mistake but I cant check that until I get back home tonight. But I don't think so because assistant 2 software show everything functioning normally when I unplug the iosd from the expansion port.

It could be possible given that the GPS puck can be inserted in other CAN ports when dealing with the A3 Pro upgrade. Ensure that it follows the diagram on page 14 for the GPS 1 spot when you have a chance and also check the Assistant 2 software to ensure it's reading as GPS 1.

Everything was plugged in correctly and still no power. I also noticed that the iosd get really hot when plugged into a3. Also the antena stops working with the osd plugged in. The light on puck goes from green to blue and asistant software shows antena not working properly. As soon as i dissconect iosd from a3 than everthing on a3 works fine. And again the iosd works fine when plugged into naza pmu. Im totally lost at this point.

I have question.
A2 FC support IOSD Mark II , not support iosd mini.
but, I found that when i connect to can2 port iosd-mini via can-hub, Iosd mini also is well working in A2.
Can i persist iosd-mini without error as my A2 can2 port connection?

This does seem odd. I'm reaching out to our R&D team to see if there is anything else that can be done, as the iOSD Mini is listed as a compatible device.

If you do not see that the iOSD Mini is overheating, then you should be fine to continue using the iOSD Mini with the A2.

So this issue has still not been resolved. Please let me know when there is a did. I thought about buying iosd mark II but I'm affriad that one won't work either. I would really like to see this resolved or at least don't claim the the iosd mini is compatible with A3. Thanks

From what I have found, the iOSD Mini is temporarily not compatible with the A3. There will be a firmware update for the iOSD Mini that would ensure it's compatibility soon, I unfortunately do not have a more specific time frame than that.

In regards to the iOSD Mini overheating, do you perhaps have at least a rough estimate as to how hot it's getting temperature-wise?

Alright, I just wanted to confirm since you said it was getting hot in a previous post. It will just require a firmware update in order to work with the A3.

It unfortunately has not come out yet, only the iOSD Mark II update has come out recently. The iOSD Mini update would not be too far behind.

I have the same problem. Dji A3 with iosd mini. Now i would like to buy iosd mark II. But i don't understand how to connect iosd to can of gps Compass A3. The can connector is different.
