When I use the extension rod I always loose wifi signal to the OSMO (X5). Any suggestions?

That's very strange.  Probably the antenna connection in Osmo is loose.

I recommend you contact support@dji.com and send your Osmo (with the extension rod together)  for repair/replacement.
