I got my P3S a week or 2 ago. I went to wipe it down as it got a little dusty from flying and I noticed a streak on the lens. I tried to wipe it off but it wouldn't come off. See pictures. It's kind of hard to see. Is this an issue with the lens? I want to get it taken care of while I can.

Edit: I saw another post from someone asking about their gimbal getting really hot. Mine also gets hot, but I thought it was normal. Need some advice here.

I'll try to do that later today. The streak is visible in the pictures I posted, but pretty faint. If you look at the first picture, you can see the streak toward the center of the lens. If you reference the DJI logo at the bottom of the lens, the streak is above that and slightly to the left.

Have you also tried using a non streaking lens cleaner with a non abrasive cleaning cloth? Does the streak fill like an indent?

I tried wiping it with a microfiber cloth. It didn't feel like an indent nor residue that was on the lens.

No, I didn't see any change. I don't notice anything in my videos, but I'd rather have it repaired while I can. I keep forgetting to upload better pictures. Let me set a reminder fo rmyself.

You would be able to have this issue addressed in no time. Have you already started the RMA process with the North American Support team?

No, I haven't started the RMA process. I'm not even sure how to do that. I attached a few more HD pics and a video which should help show what's on the lens better. I think Pic 1 and Pic 3 are the best and the video should show it as I move the camera around to show it's not a reflection. It's tricky trying to get a good shot of it because sometimes it looks like a reflection.

That looks like some sort of damage to the lens that would require a RMA. Based on your location, you can contact the North American Repair facility by either emailing support.us@dji.com or calling 818-235-0789.

Looks like the uv filter has come away from the glass, common with mobile phones that have the uv filter on the outside.

If the whole glass has a dark purple red sheen when looked at with sunlight on it, yes it's a uv filter layer.

It does have a UV lens, but it is not removable unlike its P3 Pro and Advance counterparts.

Okay. That maybe the problem then. I received an RMA. I just need to find a box to use to send it in.

Update: 8/17/19 - Just sent my phantom out for service. Will post more updates as it goes through the repair process.

Update 8/25 - Unit received. Will inspect and post my results.


Update 9/2 - I'm a bit disappointed as I write this. The quad itself looks great. But I am unable to connect it to the DJI GO app and the new camera makes same clicking noise when tilting up. It hinders the cameras movement up if you would fly forward. See video. Creating a post in the P3 section to see if I can get any help with the app. I think that I will have to send it back again after just receiving it to have the camera fixed again.


Update 9/3 - Happy again now the the issues have been resolved. Relinking the transmitter fixed the app issue and I can now get the video feed. The clicking. Was due to the ribbon being slight backed out from the camera. Pushed the ribbon in, and the clicking sound is gone.
