Is it possible to set a minimum altitude, like the max altitude and max distance?  Perhaps it might only apply when the Inspire is in fligth mode (arms raised)  If not, maybe a good idea DJI?

Good idea. There was a minimum altitude set in earlier versions of the app, but this apparently caused issues whilst trying to land

Having this only take effect when the arms are raised is a very good idea and something DJI should try to integrate.

Needed LOW ALTITUDE DJI Pilot app software enhancements (options):
SEE ATTACHED PDF in this link: http://www.unifourpeds.com/Neede ... de_enhancements.pdf

This became more of an issue after I crashed my Inspire 1 at 30+ MPH into a very tall tree after repeated S-turns maneuvers inadvertently dropped be to a lower altitude than expected. I now face an 8 week minimum time before I receive my repaired Inspire back from DJI. This will force a cancellation of at least 8 -12 planned photo shoot excursions.

Consider these relatively easy DJI Pilot software feature enhancements (with various options), most of which are already common on military drones and on manned commercial, military and some civilian aircraft. These needed software enhancements, which would prevent about 95% of such low altitude-related Inspire (and Phantom 3) crashes/accidents or damage to others and to property (and would help to reduce your critical repair backlog of Inspires to repair).

Please seriously consider these additions (or at least some of them ... there are various togglable options to match the needs of the pilot needs and the specifics of the flight mission). Please help us lobby for these needed software enhancements. This is particularly important in photo/video work, land surveys, and search and rescue operations, where “Map View” is utilized significantly during flight by the actual pilot, and in situation where the camera is not in FPV use or used (taken over) by the second controller (camera) operator, or is down-facing. These are high-risk situations for Inspire (or Phantom 3) survival, especially at distant operation where direct visualization is difficult or obstructed for the pilot of the aircraft or when the camera is in non-FPV flight direction, or being used by another video camera operator.

I don't want my FC doing anymore controlling its self than it already does.
Your the pilot!

These would be OPTIONAL, not mandatory features, which can be turned OFF (or never switched on at all in your and many other circumstances). I myself would not turn them on in many/most close flights with direct constant unobstructed view of the Inspire (or only turn on a few). So I agree your premise.

However, in situations where relatively low altitude flight is necessary where the main goal is to use the Inspire as a platform for mission-critical videos, especially when the mission is to survey large tracts of land with constant down-camera 4K video, as would be used in search and rescue missions, disaster relief work, land survey, flying my "map-view" by necessity in such situations, etc., especially when a second trained camera-controller is mot readily available, THESE ARE SITUATION IS WHERE IT REALLY MAKES SENSE. And this is how I personally crashed the drone. The actions of repeated S-turns in such a survey operation are on the same left stick that controls the altitude. These enhancements in most cases prevent such as crash. The enhancement has lots of togglable options, so that you only need to turn on what you need for the situation, and in your situation, you many want to turn them all off. I hope that clarifies my previous post. Thanks for your comment.
