I just got my X5R installed on my M600.  I went to do the latest X5R firmware upgrade for the M600 that appears on the DJI website under the M600.  However, the upgrade failed.   I use my X5R with an OSMO and am current on that release which has been out for a few months.   I've pasted the message the M600 update gives below.  So are the Osmo and M600 X5R firmware the same or compatible with each other?   The Osmo firmware seems to work on the M600 BTW.

Packet: MATRICE600_FC550R_FW_V01.09.01.10.bin
Result: Abort.
The firmware on the SD card is identical to or older than the current firmware on the device.

The camera's firmware is the same for the Inspire, OSMO, M600 and M100. If you updated the X5R's firmware using the OSMO, then you're fine.

im in the same boat....so as i understand it take the x5r mount it to the osmo take the m600 x5r .bin put it on the micro sd card with the x5r mounted to osmo power on, FW update will start then when done simply attatch x5r to m600 and all is good? thanks

You would just need to do the camera firmware on either the OSMO or the M600. After that, the camera will show current on both items.

k thanks somone was saying that if you where going to put your x5r on the m600 update the FW on the osmo but ill try it on the m600 the x5r is new in the box thanks

I have a x5r mounted on osmo . I just tried firmware upgrade every thing got screwed up. I think i have put worng version and formatted the sd card and again did corrext one but all of a sudden my dji app started showing it as osmo connected rather than osmo raw. And unable to see video
