Hey i was curious what most of you film with to put up videos.
I've done a few videos in 4k, takes forever to transcode then render, then upload to youtube.

I've seen quite a few videos that were 1080 60fps on youtube that still look really good!

Just curious if everyone always shoots in 4K then downgrades the footage to make little videos or always works with 4K.

Never shot in 4K

1080 is all I need.   If you're doing professionl work 4K might be necessary tho.
It's also pretty cool (I hear) to be able to zoom in on 4K and see such detail you can't get with 1080

I only film in 4k. First, when working with companies, they'll ask you for 4K even if they're not using it.
I can understand that for some particular videos for youtube for friends or so you may want to film in HD for being faster edit and rendering. But this is like buying a Ferrari and driving 40 mph

Yes but you can only fit one of your friends in a Ferrari, professional work maybe you have to use 4K , but if you are a hobbyist maybe HD is fine, just like a car it's better to have that extra HP and not need it, than not to have it and be looking for it.

A few interesting points on this previous Thread, notably the one on downsizing 4k to 1080.
