Thank you I rarely shoot video but since you asked the other day for video of the scenery, I did that for you As I type this, I'm standing alone on a Roman Fort on top of a hill on the middle of nowhere. An amazing contrast of technology. Might post it up later but apparently I have driven miles to find the only cloudy spot!

Thank you! I'm using a Phantom 4 for the ground imagery and a SLR camera on the ground to take the sky panorama. The panoramas are then joined together to make a complete 360 by 180.

It would have been around 70m - just enough to get a pleasing view of the castle.

ok, and how do you stitch them together with aerials?
If you just add them to the bunch of Phantom pics and put them all into Auto Pano, then it wouldnt know how to stitch them, I assume?

That's very true - as the sky/ground images are shot at differing times and viewpoints, they would likely not stitch. I treat the sky and ground panoramas as two separate panoramas and then blend the top half and bottom half together. This can be done in an image editor of you choice.

You're too kind! It's nice to know that the work involved is appreciated as I spend a silly amount of time working on them, motivated by the desire to show beauty that might otherwise be taken for granted or even go unnoticed, even by the locals.

I forgot to mention - ensure the final image has a 2:1 aspect ratio (e.g. 10000 by 5000 pixels) otherwise it might not be recognised as an equirectangular panorama (360 by 180) by some sites.

A good start!

I'm not sure why there is a small hole at the bottom but it may be related to the sky not being complete (hence the much bigger hole at the top). Autopano embeds information in the resulting file that helps the pano viewer on the webpage know how to display it. Cropping the image afterwards can have unexpected results.
My aerial panoramas usually end up 50% ground and 50% sky with the horizon dead centre. Uploading partial panoramas to some sites can give odd results as their renderer tries to deal with missing sections.

[Edit] I managed to download your image and can see the panorama data embedded - there's a vertical discrepancy in size of 45 pixels which could account for that black hole. I wonder if you cropped the image in photoshop or similar before uploading it. That can cause issues and Autopano's embedded data won't account for the cropping that took place afterwards. If you wish to crop a panorama, it's best to do the cropping inside Autopano.

There's a tutorial below which will give you some more pointers....

Really glad you liked it! It's a beautiful location which I've photographed conventionally over the years but was running out of fresh angles. The drone has been inspiring some new material

Thank you I didn't use any filters but picked a beautiful morning for the flight  - we get some fantastic skies and light from time to time.

Hi Davidson,
you have made a very nice panorama.

Thank you

If you search for a named place in Google maps that has a existing place marker (marker pin), you'll see that there is a row of photos along the bottom (you might need to click the little arrow icon near the bottom right to show the picture bar). If you scroll to the end, there usually an option to "add photo". I uploaded mine as a 360 by 180 equirectangular image (10000 by 5000 pixels)

Hope that helps!

I've got permission from a landowner to fly at their wind farm but not had the opportunity to visit and assess the risks. A windless day with blue skies would be ideal!
