What’s New?

Updated to be compatible with the DJI Focus.

Notes:

The Ground System settings will be reset to default following the firmware upgrade, indicated by a beep. Restart the Ground System and check the settings.

This firmware applies to the following models; Inspire 1 v2.0, Inspire 1 Pro and Inspire RAW.

This firmware is only for the remote controller so it can be only downloaded from the app. Please check the upgrade method in the video (start from 3:38)

So it not compatible before?

V   1.7.40 not yet available in the US.

....I start my controller and ipad Air2 device, Dji Go is v.2.85, wifi is connected but Dji Go don't show that any upgrade is needed.
Ground system is 1.6.0.
There is not any warning of software upgrade needed....
All works fine.
Very strange.

I get no R/C firmware upgrade option with DJI Go v2.8.5 here in Canada. Still at R/C v 1.6.0
What's the point of making an announcement when the firmware isn't yet available?

...maybe neither yet available for the EU ...

I agree...

So the inspire 1v1 won't be DJI focus compatible? Whatever that means...so it's not compatible with new Z3?

You can use DJI focus to adjust the focal range and aperture before. Now you can zoom.

Unfortunately DJI Focus doesn't support Zenmuse Z3 currently.

Please try to use the latest DJI Go app. Reinstall it if necessary (sync the record before reinstalling).

I'd suggest you to reinstall the app and give it a check again. Don't forget to sync your flight record before reinstalling.

Still no RC firmware update notification in overall status?

Dji Go reinstalled in latest update, again no update firmware notification....
I apologize for the sincerity but I also think that it is absurd and ridiculous having to reinstall the Dji Go app to be able to run an update ....

Im using iphone 6s, Ios 10 Beta 3...Firmware stated 1.6.0

I have ipad air2 with the last os.

I just updated the RC to 1.7.40 and had no issues.
After updating and powercycling the RC LED will be Red and the RC will beep. It's to notify you to make sure you check your settings then power cycle again and you'll have a Green LED and live video.

After playing with trying to get the RC upgrade message to appear on the iOS flight app,
Upgraded RC fw this morning , the only way I could get the iOS dji flight app to respond with the message to upgrade was by booting the RC And the Aircraft both then it appeared like magic. Just remember to shut down the aircraft before upgrading the RC.. When it finishes upgrading power down the RC and repower , go to about on the flight app check the fw version and if it's correct then power up your aircraft and check all of your preferred flight app settings, bird, gimbal, camera, RTH, master slave, battery,  blah blah yada yada...all is Good !

Upgrade done, all ok.

Agree 100%, in no way should we have to delete the app before updating. Not loosing all my lenses calibration.
Edit: I have tried with the Inspire  on as well as off, no sign of any update to the controller.

It was not available yesterday... but today I had no problems. I did not  need to reinstall the app or do anything more than connect the remote to the Go App

Ken states that after the FW update and restarting the remote (see his screen shot), it will beep and the red LED is blinking to alert you to check the flight mode. (mode 2 for me). After that all is working fine and connects to the Inspire 1 without issue

Thanks, this afternoon I also had no problems, all done without reinstalling anything.

Did you guy's have to update the Go App before you could see the update to the controller?

The Go App was updated to version 2.8.5 on July 27th.  I only updated the remote today.

If you are running the 32 channel hack, you will notice that this has changed showing all but the main 8 channels unstable. only when you go to manual mode are the other channels showing stable signal.

I have some screen shots that I will post later

Thank you Rich, strange with the channels showing like that, like to know more about that. Yes I know there is a new app out,  but my question was if you had to have the new app installed in order to see the fw update for the controller? I do not have the 2.8.5 app installed,  and don't see the fw update.

I cannot answer you then, because I had the update already before trying the remote FW.

Maybe Ken or someone form DJI could comment

I do not think we will know about the unstable channel scenario after FW update  because this is hack is not officially from DJI

I hope I understand what you are asking. I had the latest Go App already installed on my iPad and the latest version of IOS 9.3.313G34. after connecting the remote to the iPad and starting the Go App the aircraft status list showed that the remote needed an update.
After installing the update and restarting the remote you need to check the mode to be sure it is still set correctly. I my case it is mode 2. Also I reset the gimbal rate and calibration  The C1 and C2 buttons needed to be reset to your liking.

I checked all of my software settings with the camera and aircraft and set things the way I had them before. It is too Hot today and decided not to fly.  I also updated the slave remote and did the same checks. So far everything is working okay, but I noticed the HD signal change with (32 channels) and the low radio signal (interface warning)  on both my remotes. Please note that I am inside the house and my 2.4 router is blasting away near by providing my internet.

Thank you Rich, yes very good answer on the question about the maybe needing to have the new Go app installed (suspect it needs to be installed in order to see the FW update of the r/c)

My main concern is about the effects it has on the "hack", and yes agree about the interference from wifi indoors can play games. Would be great if you can post your findings how "the hack" works when you go out flying.

I had the same findings as everyone else.  I couldn't get the firmware update to pop until I powered on the aircraft.  After that, I downloaded and installed.  Just like Ken warned, I did get the red blinks telling me to confirm configuration before rebooting.  I had to go back in and set config, C1/c2, and gimbal speed.  One thing that I can appreciate is that there is now a progress bar for IMU calibration...... no more in the dark...
