Hi. I would fly with phantom 4 in indoor ambient, in a church. Which settings should do I to get the most of the phantom control? Thank

You need to change nothing but you will have to be VERY careful as you will be flying in ATTI-mode and that's a lot more difficult than GPS-mode.
Can't say more because I NEVER fly indoors and I don't think the phantom is designed for indoor-flying really.

Actually, it's quite surprising how many satellites do connect up to my Phantom 3 Pro', while still indoors.
It really depends a lot on things like windows, basic construction, area or location, and other stuff.

Aloha gargiulo,

     As RedHot says, sometimes GPS does work indoors.  That has happened to me.  But as PhanFran says you have to expect to be flying in ATTI-mode and he is right, it is more difficult.  

     However, you have an ace up your sleeve because you are flying a Phantom 4.  The Phantom 4 has double IMU systems and a Vision Positioning System (10 meter range, not 3 meter like the P3) that is designed to make flying indoors much easier.  Together they should handle your needs indoors.  But, see if you can get in some practice before the event.  

     There are a couple videos on the transition indoors / outdoors with the P4.  You might want to look them up before your practice.  You may just keep it in P mode for both but you need to confirm that.

Are you taking stills, video or both?
Lighting can be a big challenge in churches! If you have a mix of lighting you may want to adjust your White Balance to match your source lighting.

Any flights below 6 feet should be accomplished by hand holding the Phantom if at all possible. Video while hand hold will still be smooth due to the gimble.

I would definitely putbon propellers guard.  That is the most important thing when you fly indoors in order to be safe that the propellers would not get hit and of course the p4 would not fall on someone..

Hi, I've flown mine inside many times in p mode, through door ways, up stairs, out open windows etc, If you are competent pilot you can turn obstacle sensing of then it will go through doorways etc, with the obstacle sensing on the p4 stops quite often inside which is normal operation.
Just remember everyone's safety if flying near or around people. just watch out for loose ojects when flying inside that can get caught up in the props!

In case of RC signal lost , set the mode to Hover , NOT to RTH

It's very easy flying indoors, if it's close quarters than you should get prop guards and you will get a lot of buffeting from the air if your close to the walls, close quarters, or AC vent.
And set RTH to hover.
If you have good GPS you can leave it in P mode. If flying under 30ft then the VPS will help to hold horizontal position.

Why, is because when you use RTH you set a ceiling height, for it to ascend, to pass over any near by obstructions.
Flying indoors, if an unlikely incident ever did happen, and you lost control, it could try to return home, but first it will fly straight up, into the ceiling.
You can set it to hover, or a safe RTH height of 1m. ;-)

Easy to fly indoors. I did it in germany isnide an abanoned factory. You can walk under it to better see the distance to the walls (43 sec in to the vid).

Using common sense, and control of the Go app parameters, can help you return to fly another day. ;-)

No problem at all. Get the prop guards for sure because one little bump from 20ft will bring your aircraft down and probably cost quite a lot for repair. The prop guards are the best insurance  you can have for indoor or close quarter flight.

Close quarters? The prop gaurds make the drone significanly larger... Ha

Seems counter productive, in my obscure way of thinking. ;-)

I meant close quarters, not flyng in a closet
Close quarters if you need to fly next to a wall or close to objects is what I meant.

Yeah, I know, but in a church, there are often valuable art, stained glass, other treasured antiquities.
Best to be very careful, & Not be bumping around, is all I meant. ;-)

It's fairly easy if the VPS is able to recognize the floor as the aircraft will hold position. If not than it's still rather easy if you know how to fly in ATTI mode.
You have to watch out for air buffeting around in confined areas.
Having prop guards make it much easier in case you bump a wall.

No problem, The P4 and P3 VPS works great indoors, you just have to know it's limitations.
