Hello

I discovered some problems in the footage i'll made.
This is a screenshot i'll made from the footage, as you can see there are soms half rings in the sky, i'm wondering what this is and what is the possible cause? Is it a setting?

It was shot in 4 K
D-log
25 fs
sunny conditions , no wind I used a ND- filter 3 stops,
aperture  f/11 (or higher i'm not shure)
iso 100
DJI standard lens

Afther this shooting i did some more jobs and everything looked very good, so i think the camera is oke.

Hope you can help me to prevent it wil happen again.
Kind regards Marcel

Unfortunately the picture you provided is a tad small and bright. Do you have a larger or slightly darker version?

I can see it better, thank you. Which Inspire model do you have? To clarify, are you using a DJI ND filter or a 3rd party filter? Do you notice this with various filters or just this one? Have you tried wiping down the lens and filters to ensure they're clean? How long have you had this unit?

Using a Polar pro ND8 filter (3 stops)

Do you recall if this occurred after a firmware update, or once you started using specific filters. Try taking some pictures without a ND filter as well, so that we can rule out an issue with the X5 itself.

I did some  testing and here are my findings.
I dont now if it happend after the update.

My conclusion after testing (a lot of settings) is:

It has nothing to do with the ND filters.
It only happens when recording in d-log, doesn't matter what settings i use
in No colour profile it looks oke

Is it a problem with the camera or a software problem?

After further digging, this is an effect that can occur in D-Log when it's over exposed. The semi circles are the various degrees of exposure when combind with the ever changing light from the sun. Try reducing the exposure a bit and see if the lines are less apparent. You can also try running it through the Inspire 1/ Phantom 3/ X5 LOG mode Transcoding Tool to clean it up.

Hi Jamie,
Today we had a shooting with a beautifully  clear blue sky , unfortunately in D-log the circles where still there:-(
There was absolutely no over exposure. We used a 3 stops ND fiilter to manage the diaphragm/ exposure  (f5.6 or f8).
I tried the transcoding tool but it would not help.
We viewed the files in Edius and Da Vinci resolve.

We also did some shooting without a colour profile everything looks perfect. so i don't understand what's wrong with the d-log. I'm thinking of downgrading to a previous version of the firmware of the Inspire to see if the effect is still there.
Do you have any other suggestions?

Kind regards Marcel

Is the effect just as prominents as in the initial picture or is it less? Downgrading would rule out whether it's a hardware or software issue with the X5.

I think the only option left is to go to my DJI dealer.

Today  i went back to firmware version 1.8.1.00
Unfortunately the effect is still there. When i choose 'no color profile' it looks better but its still there.
I think we ruled out software and some hardware components. Do you have   advise for me Jamie?

This may be a behavior that is specific to D-Log. I have passed this information along to the R&D team for further review. At this time, you may want to move to using the "None" option, as it will provide multiple post production options as well.
