Received my new gimbal / camera today, should have been a 5 minute installation, but... one of the connectors is different, original is a 4 pin to 4 pin, but the new gimbal is a 5 pin, and no conversion cable was included, or instructions. DJI... help! Need this bird in the air, no time to send in for repair, have a job next weekend!
I will post the pictures to help my fellow P4 pilots in case they run into this same issue that apparently DJI has no knowledge of. That being said, I must now express to you how very disappointed I am with DJI customer service, mostly because I couldn't speak to anyone with any working knowledge of their product, but rather someone named "Peggy" (joke) from India. They requested I send pictures, which are the same ones I will post here. After all of that, and quite some time on the phone, their only solution was for me to ship it back to China so they could diagnose and repair it. It was a five minute fix! So, I found a DJI repair shop in the US, and two days later I had the correct 4-pin to 5-pin connector, and back in the air, good as new, without waiting a month to get the it back from China, and without a huge repair biIl from DJI. He charged me $5 & $15 for express shipping.
Please don't take it personally, I am not lashing out at you DJ I Ken, I am just extremely frustrated and disappointed with DJI customer service. After spending the amount of money I have spent on what I thought was a top-notch top quality product, it certainly doesn't have the corresponding top-notch customer service to go with it.
DJI needs to provide the option to select whether you need a 4 pin to 4 pin connector, or a 4 pin to 5 pin connector, when folks are ordering a replacement gimbal assembly for $379
