I have tried everything and my drone refuses to connect to the software. any suggestions would be greatly appeciated

Hi, when you connect your drone to your PC, does the PC makes any beeping sound, or pop up something, or show a new Drive?  That makes at least the physical connection is fine.

Try to reinstall the DJI WinDriver in compatibility mode. When choosing a previous working OS in this mode, use Windows XP. Please let me know if the issue persists.

Since you are getting some sort of indication that a device was connected, then that means that there is some sort of setting on the computer that it's keeping it from recognizing. Based on the information provided, could you please confirm if your presumed set up is a Phantom 1 with the Naza M Assistant? Have you tried a different computer? Was this ever working for you before, or is this your first time connecting?

i have tried another computer, i experienced the same issue. i bought this drone from a friend who said he could never get it to connect either. as of now, i have never gotten it to connect as well

Was the other computer a Windows 10 as well or a different operating system? Do you happen to run the Assistant Software as an administrator?

other computer is windows 10...in fact all my computers are windows 10. yes i ran as admin

There is one last thing I would like to check in regards to compatibility mode. Would you troubleshoot compatibility from the .EXE file and hit "test" before saving? One thing that can be overlooked is that when you select "test", a security icon would appear on the task bar that needs to finish authorizing the compatibility mode. It would be preferred to do this on both the WinDriver and the Assistant, I apologize if I did not make it clear before.

also have noticed that when i start naza asst, i get a splash screen with a progress bar....this will stay like this until i hit "skip"

Having to skip is normal. If it's not working on Windows 10, the only thing that can be done to rule out a computer issue is to try a different operating system. If you're not able to borrow a different computer, then the only other option is to have the unit in to the North American Support Center for further diagnostics. One can only hit their head against the proverbial wall for so long.

i found an old Gateway machine in the garage....with windows XP on it....installed software, hooked up drone....naza assistant worked perfectly..i kinda figured it was a compatibility issue. Thank you for all your help!!!

I'm glad to hear you were able to get it up and running on a computer. It may take some tinkering, but you can try to get it to work with Windows 10 for the future. Since compatibility mode did not seem to do the trick, you can try to look at your security settings since not a lot of current domestic computers like Chinese programs. At least you do have a system that can run the program.

You lucked out. I don't have an old pc to try. My windows 10 won't work. I have no issues with my P1, just wanted to be able to change some settings. Have a P4 now, so the P1 is rarely used.
