I replaced the roll arm, yaw arm and ribbon cable. I checked and double checked all of the alignments. All motors move freely and smoothly with no power applied. I am attaching a video of the gruesome results of my efforts. I'm getting a "Gimbal Motor Overload" message. No indication of which motor. Any ideas or suggestions appreciated. Either for repair ideas or an authorized repair facility, preferably in the Southern New Hampshire area.
Ah, looks like the ol' "gimbal shaft misaligned twitch"
Basically the sensor that is supposed to tell the camera what position it's in is out of alignment and when it can't compensate it goes spastic.
You may be able to get it back into a workable condition with a minimum of effort. As long as the shaft isn't rubbing on anything that would affect movement,
While this particular YouTube video is for a Phantom 2 series the basic principal is the same: * DJI Phantom 2 Vision+ Gimbal repair (Don Carey 7:32 ) http://youtu.be/5iTz3Dd2Ecs
this is the internal shaft in which the camera rotates, you have it backwards. this one
take it back apart, and rotate that shaft so the flat part is parallel to the flat part on the camera head. i'm 100% confident of this i had the same issue and my video was exactly the same as yours. this will fix it.
