G'day all from Australia.

I own a hexacopter with a DJI A2 FC and a H3-3D gimbal which holds a GoPro Hero 3+ camera.

When unpowered (on a level surface) the camera and gimbal rotate and come to rest quickly in an anti-clockwise direction (looking at the lens) (Roll plane).

I read the H3-3D documentation an it mentions that even the addition of a lens filter could upset the balance so I assumed that it would balance perfectly in all planes.

So a question: Should I add a tiny bit of weight to the right side of the camera/gimbal (maybe blu-tac) to achieve perfect balance?

I do have an engineering background so I reckon that the less work the camera roll servo has to do the less it has to work and less power is used.

Apart from that, the DJI equipment works sweetly and precisely. My last RTH test (Tx switched off) resulted in a perfect landing 11cm from the take-off point after a 2km test flight, mild wind and return altitude of 80m - not bad.
