I'm uploading this recent video recovered from my Phantom 4 "crash" after I inadvertantly added two waypoints into my Litchi flight app mission with zero altitude!!
I am prepared to eat whatever crap gets dished out for such stupidity, but feel it's important to show this video as proof of the ability of the Phantom to defend itself against newbies and possibly even more seasoned pilots with a death-wish. It's 9 minutes (long I know) but the good stuff really happened about 1/2 way through, so if you can possibly endure, I assure you it will be worth your time.

thats amazing. I was waiting for a crash the whole time because of the title. I was amazed when it made it back, then i was thinking you were going to crash into the flag pole Atleast you got a video that looks like it was shot by an experienced, and very edgy pilot XD. (also the tilted horizon is so extreme at the end). Very cool

WOW!!! I just fell in love with the P4! I have the P3A. I thought for sure it would hit the house because of the glass. I also thought it would hit the trees on the final leg because of the Sun. Just WOW again!

I enjoyed your narrative, I was sure we'd be witnessing the end of a P4.  Glad it didn't turn out like like.  I guess every flight has a lesson.

I'm using that now. Thanks Ken and I know I'm lucky. Still, it's pretty amazing the technology on the P4. I don't know how many people have put it to that kind of test and live to tell about it;-]

Yeah - imagine us standing around trying to figure out how to find the crash site and suddenly seeing telemetry pop up again! It was scary and exhilarating! Thanks for watching.

There's another video with a guy trying to demolish the P4 byt cutting a prop in half, flying into a tree, and even throwing the P4 case at it. After everything his P4 still flew. Pretty amazing.

Thanks for your comments! I really thought we'd lost it but it wasn't until we got it back and looked at the video that we saw how incredible the P4 technology really is!! DJI did an impressive job of engineering it. I'm glad to (still) own one!

Thanks for your comments. We thought we'd lost it too. The video was a testament to just how lucky we were. But the technology on the P4 is the real story here. Can't tell you how impressed we are with it and glad to (still) own one;-]

I'm pretty sure it hit the house at 7:07 mark. You can see the prop mark it left when the aircraft backed up. The camera also lost gimbal roll alignment and you can see it straightening up after the impact.

You couldn't have planned for that, on the edge of my seat waiting for the crash

You could always take bets, and then rerun the litchi waypoints file and see if it does the same again

Are you sure it didn't hit that house? It looks like it snaps back, like a boxer taking a punch, but you would think if it actually did hit the house, it would have crashed. I think I can see the props in the shot just as it is about to hit the house like its in full tilt forward.

First video I've seen that really shows the advances with the P4.   Thoroughly enjoyed watching.  Most excellent video my friend!

It definitely hit that house, no way the gimbal was that close to the wall without the props touching. Considering it avoided trees and poles so well you would expect it would have done the same with the house, but it looks like the glass was a factor.

I just looked again and it does look like it hit the house as you state there appears to be a mark after. BUT that could be lighting, I would say the only way to be sure is inspect the house.  When I first saw this I thought it hit the house but then it did not crash so I thought it missed unless he there are prop guards installed.

LOL! You guys have got to be pleased with the P4. It's the most sophisticated, yet easy to fly drone I've seen yet. It's truly amazing technology.

If it actually hit the house, which you may be right about that, it recovered without damaging the props or gimbal. I'll go back and look at that footage again closely. I thought it checked up with mere inches to spare. Thanks for your feedback.
