I'll buy the whole package I think, unfortunately Dji is a bit slow when you need only a component.

It sounds like all the good features - plus some new ones (zoom, obviously; also a timelapse programme) are there but that the not-so-good are too - sound recording. One would hope that any accessories for the original OSMO will work with OSMO+  - as I'm sure many OSMO users will be upgrading (& price of original OSMO will fall!). Shame there's no after-market gadget that we OSMO users could use to add a zoom facility to ours.

Sounds great but I would be hesitant in buying it. The Z3 still has issues that are making it un-flyable at the moment.

It's same handle like a first OSMO?

Uh, did you read that it has optical zoom also?
There is something to see here.

Sounds like quite the upgrade from the previous one. I would really like to try one of these out or own one... Guess I'll have to put in on the list! haha. One day!

Will the new camera with zoom work on the Inspire?  

I too would like to know if we can just upgrade the camera?   Never saw an answer from DJI on it.

its the same like this everywhere - the whole new OSMO with zoom cost only 749,- while the camera alone should cost 999,- for the Inspire

I can't seem to find an answer, so I have to ask what the gig is with the "Silent Recording"?  Does that mean no audio recording?  No motor noise with built-in mic?  Does it even have a built-in mic?  Will it record audio with external mic only???  Separate Audio track???
Would anyone be able to enlighten me on this?

There is something to see here.

on a camera that size optical zoom is just a gimmick, keep your current osmo and just take a few steps closer to your subject. You will save a bunch of money.

It's not always possible to move... On the other hand, the limited aperture f/5.2 could be an issue with the low sensitivity of a small sensor.
Currently, I've a Inspire pro. I could be interested by the Z5, but I need a solid argument to explain why the same camera + lens assembly costs 2X more on the Inspire than on the Osmo .
And it's really annoying that the Z5 is not compatible with the Osmo ... (I can easily understand the opposite, but why the premium version is not able to perform what the 'low cost' version does on the osmo ?)
I guess it's not only the color (on the Inspire, white is cheaper than black lol).

The amount of people complaining either about the Osmo+ being a ripoff or the Osmo+ making the original Osmo useless is a bit childish. Everybody wants the Osmo+ features with a firmware update and a small price to pay for the new camera, but its not good for business if you did that. If you want these features then you need to purchase the Osmo+ or simply get over it and continue to use your original Osmo. This is how the industry moves, Drones, Cameras, Smartphones, etc... They all make upgrades and new units, while the old units remain and are phased out. I am hoping the Osmo+ fixes many of the issues that have yet to be resolved in the original unit and they have truly created a worthwhile upgrade.

For the big compatibility issue (Z3 inspire vs X3 Osmo+), I have the solution !
Assuming the price difference, DJI could offer an X3 zoom camera for each buyer of a Z3 !!

From my research, DJI have made it so it is incompatible with your Inspire and then have made the inspire zoom incompatible with your osmo ! and then to top it all off they have just bought out the Osmo mobile gimble, that can't be removed and another camera like the X3 or X5 to go on it !

To me, this is just pure unadulterated greed on the part of DJI they have no concept of customer loyalty or customer service, It would be a very easy thing to make all of the gimble systems retro - fittable, but this way you have to outlay thousands more to make use of all the different systems, I for one refuse to play the game and I will not purchase one more product from them and I am going to sell me Inspire and seriously look for another option for this camera gimble system.

I am sure there are more out there, they are coming out all the time, I sincerely hope lots of other people get angry at this complete rip-off and money grab from DJI and do the same thing,

NO IDEA DJI your conduct is very close to criminal !! I know of not one other manufacturer that treats its customers this way, not one !! good way to get a bad reputation

My heart goes out to the guy who bought an Inspire Pro one week before the 1000 € discount and then bought  a Z3 one week before the launch of the Osmo +     . Poor guy...
... I've to say.. I'm very happy with my P3P and Inspire Pro, these are fantastic products. But I agree (partially), in terms of customer consideration, there is some room for improvement   ...

DJI? Will the osmo+ have active object tracking like the osmo mobile in the app? I hope so.

Why would the max slow-mo frame rate drop from the previous 120 to 100? This is to the only thing that stops me from upgrading.

There are differences in terms of hardware of the X3 Zoom and Z3, you'll see it later if some 3rd party dissembled both cameras and do a comparison.

One of the reason that Osmo mobile is cheaper is because that it doesn't come with a camera.       And it is also more powerful because it uses the phone CPU for all the calculation and photo processing.

The tracking feature for Osmo and Osmo+ will not be available in the near future, our engineers tried developing that and didn't achieve desirable results because of limitations of hardware.

ahh ok, that makes sense, maybe the next gen Osmo with a built in display and octacore cpu for the brain will be something to explore then.

I am curious to findout if this Osmo+ is interchangeable with the new Osmo Phone (Are any of the cameras Zenmuse X5 OR x5R interchangeable with the soon to be released adapter plate). What are your thoughts on this.

Hi, it's not compatible, since the Osmo Mobile's camera is attached to the handle and can't be removed.

It is adjusted 100fps, just to achieve a better overall result.

When can we expect the Osmo+ to ship? (I live in Sweden)

I ordered the Osmo+ last week, waiting for delivery to UK.  First Osmo so hoping for good results as recording trips with an Iphone was too shaky.

I ordered my plus a few days ago, was told it will be shipped 7-10 days after payment was confirmed..... So it should not be much longer. Anxious though!

I don't understand how DJI can release a product with such little info. I want to buy either the OSMO+ or the OSMO Mobile, but there is such little info and sample videos of these two devices. I'm checking youtube multiple times a day to see if there are new videos uploaded by users. Kinda crazy if you ask me. DJI doesn't even have a video showing how the Zoom function works on the OSMO+, just pictures. How do you sell a product without any demo videos? Insane.
