Nope, the AC needs to be powered up and connected to the RC for the Sim to run.

DJI's intent was to have the FC actually process the data from the RC as part of the sim, that way any changes to gains and tuning can be run in the simulator.

But yes, quite complicated for an app.

Definitely go out and buy more batteries, one will not be enough.
I run 2 TB48s alongside the original 47, absolutely bare minimum.

As Farnk666 indicated, the Simulator functions based on the unit that is connected to the app. It unfortunately cannot be used on its own.

Two new 48s arriving today fingers crossed,more good news DJI has accepted my warranty claim so  now I'm just waiting on my supplier to respond and post my battery replacement I'll keep you posted Thankyou Jamie.

The light at the end of the tunnel is drawing near for sure.

A good thing to keep in mind is if you have an Android device, make sure you have USB Debugging enabled for the simulator to work.

Thanks for the advice,after looking around I decided to go with the apple air 2 and after sitting it on the controller I'm very happy I did so.
