Not sure if all these facts have been stated.
This affects DJI go as well as LITCHI and DJI Ultimate flight apps. It affects all models of DJI drones including WI FI and lightbridge.
My Samsung Galaxy tablets are not affected (yet!) Only the s7 phone
Has the recent apple upgrades got anything to do with this?

I reported the problem to samsung . They wrote to reset the phone to factory settings. if reset does not help to provide telephone service.
Restet phone did not help. I provided the phone to an authorized service.
I received a phone reset to factory settings. Samsung said that it can not install an older version of the firmware . Again I contacted the helpdesk samsung . They wrote that download a previous firmware version is associated with the loss of warranty, and authorised service did not perform it . At the end they added that the problem is with the application DJI him and the problem should be reported to the DJI.
At present I dowgrade firmware, my phone works correctly. Thanks to Pawel

I honestly do not know this but if it truly restores to factory image firmware ,
would that also not remove any updates that were not factory level installed.

I could put it clearer - I wouldn't expect the factory reset on the phone would touch the firmware version at all.  It would affect the user data and applications part of the installation.

In the case where firmware updates have been done I expect these to stay after the factory reset.  "firmware as it was installed" would include any firmware updates.

I could see that if the firmware update ALSO made a configuration change that caused the problem .. maybe a firmware reset would roll the settings back.  Sadly a number of people have tried the factory reset now, and it looks like it didn't fix it - so the issue seems to be somewhere in the firmware and its compatibility with the DJI apps.

Good to hear you got it working!

So some evidence of Samsung pointing the fingers at DJI - this issue may take a long time to get solved!
An application - even if it does cause a fault - should not cause the phone to crash.  
There is clearly an issue with Samsung's firmware or Android OS

That said - DJI might still be able to debug and come up with a workaround to get their customers up and flying again?

Just flashed to a rom that was released early in August and works fantastic like it should.Tried Litchi and that works fine to.Will just have to wait until they sort it out then i will update.followed pawlovs instructions.

I had the Z3 compact, and worked perfectly with my phantom 4, but I broke it and bought a S7, thinking that samsung was a great company..
If it worked well with the Z3 compact it have to be better with the Z5

Same issue here. So frustrating. I actually bought the S7 because I had a BQ Aquaris phone that didn't work that well and I thought the latest and the best of smartphones today can work perfectly with the drone. But no...

Sometimes though it works just fine, but then it restarts the phone and hell breaks loose. Yesterday I set up the drone to follow me, then phone restarted and after it did I opened the DJI app again while the drone was in the air, and as soon as  I opened the app the drone flew away from me at high speeds. It took me 5 minutes to be able to get it back because for some reason it was flying away from me on its own and I just could not stop it from doing that. Not sure what the heck happened but it was super scary. Is the drone suppose to follow you even if the app closes or when you loose the signal on the phone from the downlink?

The incompatibility issue is caused by the Samsung S7 mobile system. DJI has urged Samsung to solve this problem a.s.a.p..

It really seems to be a "Samsung-only" Problem.
Ive bought a Sony Z5 yesterday and today i flight the 3rd time without any problems. Theres android 6.0.1 on it.

Absolutly no reboots or someting else.
