I'm not sure I've only just seen the article.

lol I only posted a thread this morning on my wish that DJi would get into the racing drone market. I'd love one to compliment my P4 but after looking at what the market has to offer they are still very much scrappy enthusiast grade units which still need a load of work, IMO. I'm sure DJI could release a high spec, high grade racing drone from all their experience. I've also added to my wishlist that they make the phantom controller fully compatible of course

Yeah Technically FPV drone wold not be a surveillance drone so it may have different rules.

They aren't building an arena to race Phantoms. Haha

Why not? Practice flying intricate maneuvers a few hours every day and you can get there.  ;-)

It takes 10,000 hours to become proficient.  So, you best buy some more flight batteries. Ha

<------------------ All you need is a quality miniature like this! Been building / flying these for 3 years or so now.  We fly these soley in manual mode meaning no hovering no position hold etc.  You have to fly this baby like it's on rails.

Yes, thankfully, the Voltage 500 3D, is included in Real Flight Drone SIM. ;-)

Painfully slow, in the beginning, but days gone by.

Oh cool, very interesting.

Osmo plus, no. $800.00 zoom camera, no. Osmo mobile, yes I ordered one but not overly excited. DJI mavic racing drone? Yes I will order one without even looking at the specs.

You have one of these? ive been considering one since you posted this. i was wondering what the highest speed you got out of it was, as well as if its worth it. i think an aerobatics drone would be a good addition to my collection.

I have no telemetry on my Spektrum DX8 for this bad boy. But it really is fast, for its size. Easier to see her, at a distance.
The Voltage 500 is a beast. Hahaha So yes, worth every brown penny.
You will have a ball if you purchase one! For sure.
I also have www.realflight.com/drone and it contains this model. What a gas.

since quad alone, its $350, it always came out to about $6-700. i went for an xk x350. its got reversible esc's as well and i got it for only $180. i don't expect much from it, but i made sure to buy from a seller with a return policy.

That's interesting. A few of my RC friends who share air space at www.ercha.ca also fly other brands of drones with reversing esc/motors a couple that come to mind are TBS Discovery and the Invertix. Not such a unique concept after all.
I look forward with eager anticipation, to seeing what we are to be confronted with next, in future RC innovation. ;-)

My x350 will be here friday. Hopefully it's good, but since I haven't experienced the helimax voltage outside of videos, I'll let the 3d pilot determine if $180 is a good price. I only hope that it has a real manual  mod i addition to its stability mode, and will allow the pilot to control pitch as far as 90°, unlike my last "3D" "manual" quad. By 3d it meant you could do a flip by hitting a button. And as to what I hope is next in rc innovation: 100% efficiency. I hope that we have endless flight.
