If you plan to use a WiFi only device, it would require for you to cache the maps prior to flying and you would not have access to the Follow Me intelligent flight mode. Follow Me mode uses the mobile device's internal GPS module, which is only available with tablet with cellular data or phones.

Aside from that, all other functions will work.
