Hi,I've just bought my phantom 4 and I've also installed DJI Assist 2 (V1.0.4) on my PC in order to update my  firmware.
When the update reaches 100%, it givees me a message "UPDATE FAILED", what is the issue? How can I fix it?

I have some other devices that require updates (Garmin GPS. Escort radar. Etc.).  In order for them to finish updates, I have to make sure the firewall and antivirus is turned off.  I suspect the software calls home and if it can't connect due to the firewall/anti-virus, it fails.

Don't know if this will help with the P4 though.

randimbisoa.tah, please restart the drone, then check the led status on the gimbal whether it is solid green or not, or you could check the version on the "About" page through the APP.

gmccurdy: thank you for your advice, I've turned off firewalll and antivirus but it still shows the same thing "update failed".
DJI Natalia: do you mean the camera status indicator and link button (near the micro SD card slot)? if it's the led status on the gimbal then it is green but it flashes for a whle then no light afterwards.
I am beginer and not very  familiar to some words I mean by that "APP"
Would really appreciate if you can help on it

In that case, would you please connect your phone to the remote controller, then turn them on, open the APP, and check the version on the "About" page as the picture.
If it cannot be upgraded by the APP, please try to do it with the assistant 2 on your computer.

When I connect the aircraft to my computer using DJi assistant 2, I got a version V01.01.0301 and three (3) update are available in the status.Each time when I launch Dji Go and turn on my aircraft, Dji Go only recognize Phantom3 pro instead of Phantom 4. This is unusual and may be comes from the Version N/A.

Please try to click ‘Factory reset’, and upgrade the top one, or you could restart the drone and computer again.
Please do not disconnect the USB cable during the upgrading, and check the led status on the gimbal, it should be  blinking red and green.

Hi again,
I tried to click 'Factory reset' as you metionned and upgrade the top one for several times and it still not working. I still got a message 'Update failed'.
I did nt disconnect the USB cable during the upgrading.
Could you please advise what should I try next? One more thing, I cannot see the camera view on my Android since the first time I tried to launch the aircraft. Is it normal?

Hello i'm hoping to get some help here. I'm new here, just got the phantom4 and charged everything up and looking for help on doing the firmware setup with my ipad mini 2! I was able to get the remote part done but when started the next step on doing the firmware update on quad it said failed Can i please get some help here?? Thankyou I'll check back in a bit hope to see advice for this guy going solo in all the setup stuff..

i unplugged the cord durring the firmware update. Could this have damaged it? Can i try again?? I'm clue less i need help please.. Anyone here??

Same boat here. So the top one is the most recent one? I tried it on the DJI GO app and it said it downloaded to the device... and also the controller I hope, but failed to download to the P4. I also have the noisy gimbal and if this doesn't fix it, back to Best Buy for another return.

Hello Randimbisoa, sorry to hear that, have you tried to format the SD card, restarted the aircraft to try again?
The led status on the gimbal is solid red or not?
You have tried all the methods, unfortunately, still the same case, it needs to be checked and fixed by the engineers. Please send an e-mail to support@dji.com for further help.

Hello duanefrye1, please do not disconnect the USB cable during the upgrading.
You could format the SD card, and upgrade it again step by step, here is the tutorial for your reference:

Hello stillpraiznhim, the top one is the latest one, would you please try to upgrade the aircraft through the assistant 2 on your computer instead of the APP?

Thank you so much for your help.
I finally got it going and flew it as well but when I try to upgrade, it fails.  
I followed all the things that you have allready mentionned : First, I clicked  on Factory reset and then upgraded the firmware and it failed (with my PC), then I restarted  the aircraft and I tried a second time using my tablet and the upgrade failed after 60%.
The actual version is V01-01-0301 and it works but I cannot get the upgrade completed at 100% on the version V01-02-0503 (the new one). May be it needs a very high internet connexion! if you could give some advices on it

I finally get my aircraft flying but without upgrade. Still struggling with the new upgrading.

Try the upgrading with your PC and if it doesn't work, try to do it whith your Phone (Iphne or Android) but don't forget to restart your aircraft afterwards.
