That comes with a side handle that attaches to the extension pole
so that you can hold to take the strain / weight away from the attachment
on the Osmo base  , I have this on order , I look forward to using it.

The device is very light, weighing some 205 grams.

I haven't noticed any problems due to its weight.

The quality of manufacturing leaves a few things to be desired (the end caps don't stay on, and there is a thin rubber gasket under the contacts at one end that seems a little loose).

But -- it does give your subjects those extra viewpoints -- so it's worth having.

Without doing any detailed examinations or measurements, I'd say .......... none. All it's doing is passing electrical signals along 2 feet of extra cabling.

You may be losing a couple of seconds of battery use, but I couldn't detect it.

As you say, it comes with a side handle, but so far I haven't bothered to use it for the shots that I've wanted.

In the short time that I've had it, it's proved quite useful.

Quite an interesting design, makes me wonder if DJI should make something similar

Yes, and can we have a motorised extension as well please. And how about a goose neck type connector instead of a rod. Look forward to it
