Congratulations, that is a really good experiment. I tried to work out where you were on the island, but it was too hard.

what happened the first few times you tried? did you have to return back, or did you do a remote landing?

The first time a tried the signal was lost and it returned to home. See this video:
Before that I did a test and launched and landed the P4 at 8kms distance. See this video:
After the first failed attempt I did some tests, to be sure about the behaviour of the Phantom. See this video:
After that I felt sure enough to retry it.

first of all, well done !! the YEEHAW and the smile on your face said it all. I love watching these missions/challenges. You never know whats going to happen. see you have the ellite antenna mod,do you have battery mod aswell or stock battery ?

I have a p3 pro  with copper windsurfers,have ordered the battery mod v3 from horizonfpv (uk) so waiting and excited for that to come and test out. also thinking after battery mod the windsurfers will be the limiting factor so looking at the Phantom Terminator 2 Linear kit also from horizonfpv uk.

subscribed to your channel also,aswell as digta0 channel,his 40k/50k flights are astonishing

It's interesting to see the aircrafts being pushed to these kind of limits, but you always want to maintain an air of caution.

You are absolutely right of course. But I was well prepared. Did you see the previous videos? I did several tests and I knew what to do in case something would go wrong/I would lose the signal.
