Hi everyone,

It's been a while since I pulled my Phantom 3 Professional out for a flight.  Almost immediately, I got an error saying that there was No Image Transmission, and to upgrade firmware.  Considering that everything was working fine when I put things away in my pelican case, I'd like to thank DJI for forcing upgrades on people by taking away features.  I was quite happy with how things were operating, but having a camera is a necessary part of drone flight (or it should be).

So -- I go to the website and download the current firmware and start the install.  Typical gimbal beeping and then suddenly the dreaded long beep.  FAIL.

Now, while I am new here, I have spent a lot of time searching and reading Phantom 3 threads.  I've tried reformatting the SD card and starting over (multiple times).  Sometimes I get an instant fail message.  Other times, I get an install start and then fail after a few minutes.  There's no predicting the behavior.

The Phantom still talks to my remote, but still no Image Transmission.

Yep. Welcome to the club. There's a lot of people asking about this for almost a year but no real official fix from DJI. Good luck.

Your is exactly like mine problem, except mine is brand new out of the box and no video already except the update notice on the screen.  It is the modules 0800 and 1500 not detect and its effecting the camera and causing the update to failed.  So no matter what you do it will not update.  You can check the gimbal connection see anything loose but mine is all connect so its the internal problem.  Not just that but the DJI support is super slow to respond. I emailed them on Tuesday Dec 27 and all I get is the emailed received msg but not getting back to me to support me at all.  This make me want to give up on DJI and find other drone instead.

My P3P was last upgraded over a year ago to 1.6 and nothing has been done to it since. I switched off automatic updates in my iPad Air 2, disconnected the WiFi connection and left the whole kit effectively isolated from the world. Therefore I don't get nagged by update messages and the aircraft flies perfectly with no issues.

Nothing of any real interest has been added via subsequent upgrades, so I am not penalised in any way. I also do not calibrate my compass, IMU or anything else, because it is not necessary, and because there is no WiFi connection, the DJI Go app on my iPad is not phoning home to DJI all the time exchanging who knows what information, which it most certainly does if you let it.

no problem.... If this is normal, then I will not worry about line 11.01. The P3P is working correctly and without issues. I have not seen this notice before on any other DJI FW updates.

Not sure I have the log file, but I will look for it. I copied the complete txt file in post #5

Hi,

I had exactly the same issue after more than a year of using my P3P ...

Sometimes, I had video, sometimes (most of) I didn't ...

I still could control my P3P, but it was impossible to upgrade ...

All this happened in May/June 2016 ...

I live in China, explained the issue to DJI in Shenzhen ... They requested me to send my unit to them ...

Apparently, the connection between the gimbal and the drone was broken or somehow dodgy ...

They fixed it and sent it back in less than a week for 138 RMB (roughly 20 USD) ...

Since then, no issues at all ...
