Just got my Osmo Mobile today and did a quick test to see if the gimbal would balance with the phone offset in the holder to allow an external mic to be plugged into my Galaxy Note 7.


Sorry for the low quality. I didn't have time to play with the exposure etc. It was only recorded at 720p and processed at a low bitrate.

I'm using the Rode VideoMic (http://amzn.to/2cqzx9n) with the TRR to TRRS adapter (http://amzn.to/2cqz0EG). To mount the mic I used the Universal mount (http://amzn.to/2dzYgxN) and the straight extension arm (http://amzn.to/2diFZ5U) so the mic can be mounted inline with the handle.

But on a serious note. Thanks for the info. I was thinking about buying a Rode VideoMic Me to attach to it. This makes me hopeful

I'm trying to emulate this setup, but I've got a videomic me. I've contacted rode to see if I can get that shock mount separately.

would help to see the connection at the phone also. i'm using the rode mic pro but with not much success.

you are getting that error message because of the tension thats put on the gimbal when looking up, do to the tension of the mic cord it is unbalanced in the upward position. you understand?

is there any cold-shoe with 1/4" screw adapter out there in the market? would love to use a Rode videomicro without using the universal mount
