for 850.00 lol.  Wow!  I posted on the other site that I'd take 850.00 today and I wasn't taking PayPal and so far not much.  I figured I'd take a loss if I got my money fast and live with it but nope.... PayPal sucks because with the weekend id have to wait days to get my money ... Lol heck if im gonna do that, I'll just send it back to Amazon and wait for all of it, minus maybe the restocking fee.   I figured at that price somebody would jump on it but nope. Not yet.  It's a a freakin phantom 2vision plus 3.0 with extra battery and everything. Lol. It's a terrific machine but I really should have thought it through more carefully.  I'm not sure how long it'll take with Amazon , I've never returned anything to them but I assume I have to ship it and then it'll be a few days to have the money put back. No idea.  I wish I was just rich and could afford to fly it for fun.  It is fun.  Sigh...

Amazon returns are super easy. They even pay for the shipping label.

Cause I'm scared to sell with it and that's what I do for a living.  I might be able to get away with it but I'm scared to risk it.

I'll call and check.  Any idea how long it takes? I really put myself in a bind buying it. I had planned to use it right away. Then I got nervous reading all this FAA stuff.  I shoulda looked into it more carefully.  Not smart on my part .

It usually takes no more than 3 business days when I return items. See this link for more info:

I got the shipping info and label from Amazon to return it.  Guess I'll have to wait but at least my loss will be minimal.

I would like to get a less expensive unit to fly for fun.   What's the best idea, bang for your buck , for a quad copter type unit that's easy to maintain and fairly reliable?

If they make it legal to use them for business, I'll buy another one later from Dji! I am a fan. It's a fine unit.  Just sucks right now it's recreation only.

Warbishop, it's legal to fly a Phantom for commercial purposes if you get an exemption from the FAA. It's a lengthy process, is full of very strict requirements after you get it approved, and requires that you have a private pilot license. Some people will tell you the FAA does not have the power to regulate commercial use of Phantoms. I tend not to believe those people though since the FAA is constantly posting things on the Internet, TV, etc. about how it's not legal. So, believe who you want to I guess

If you're just looking for an inexpensive drone to fly for fun, then try one of these:

Oh, it's illegal alright for commercial purposes without an exemption.  Question is, are you willing to take risk they will focus on you, and fine you up to 10k dollars.  So, in the famous words of Clint Eastwood, "Do you feel lucky punk?"

kjkisatsky, that's a valid point. It's also important to know if your customers are willing to do business if they know it's not legal. Many potential customers are probably clueless. But, in some industries, like real estate, almost all know because their organizations contacted them and told them not to take part in it.

Probably a tougher sell now with all the recent idiots doing dumb $hit with them and the fact that DJI have a sale on...
If I were a perspective purchaser I would be leary of the truths/myths (call them what you will) of incompatible ESC's and old motors in the new version etc. and would likely have a bit more comfort in buying new now believing that DJI would by now have this rectified.

Good luck

I don't think there is another drone company out there that can compete with the market share that DJI is holding now.
