DJI GO had an update this morning (on ios... not sure about Android)

The panorama mode works perfectly, options include a 180 degree pano (5 shots)... a 330 degree pano (7 shots)... and a 9 shot pano (3x3 grid)

only did a few test shots inside to see how well it stitches and its pretty much seemless

not a feature i really bought the osmo for, but its a cool addition nonetheless

its simple to use... pick from the options... point the camera... take the pic and its all automated from there

Odd, I'm not even getting an option for pano mode on DJI Go Android on my Note 7. No option for 4k video recording either.

Works really well and is easy to use. All we need now is for DJI to fix the issues and we will then have a solid product.

Just downloaded the update. The pano option is there now for Android as well however... using the 9 photo option the dimensions of the photo it output is only 1558 x 651 and 274kb. The photos it uses to compile the pano are saved as well, their dimensions are 853x480. Seriously, it takes 9 pictures with a 12 MP camera (on a Note 7) and that's what tiny photo it comes up with? Very disappointing! I was hoping to use this on my upcoming vacation in Hawaii for some large pano photos that would be good enough to frame, looks like that's not gonna happen. Same thing with the 180 and 330 degree panos, the output file dimensions are 3824x 613 (513kb) and 5544 x 623 (731kb) respectively. When I do a pano using the Samsung default camera app the output is about 10-12MB photo with dimension of 11776x2144 with the camera horizonal and when I held the camera verticle the file is 23MB and 12048x3584. Why does the DJI app produce such a small photo? At the very least it should save the photos used to create the pano as a maximum file size (in my case 12MP) photo so I could stitch them together myself.

100% USELESS. Each shot is pure garbage. Hope in a quick fix. Apart from that I'm enjoying it a lot.

It will be improved with the next DJI Go update, the reason the pano is of low quality is that the algorithm for stitching photos together is not very efficient compared with stock camera app, and R&D team is working to improve it.

its improved but still not what it should be

9 photo pano on the highest quality is now 2209 x 1067

which is still doesnt make much sense considering its stitching 9 photos taken with an 8 megapixel camera

8 megapixel is 3264 x 2468... i was hoping this feature would be great to create extra high resolution images for printing in large formats... as it is now, its a cute feature but useless for printing

there is zero reason that a photo that stitches 9 photos together should have a lower resolution than a single photo

not sure what DJI is thinking here

give us an extra high quality option please!

Hi, the reason is that the stitching takes a lot of consumption powers, so DJI GO has to intentionally lower the resolution to make the stitching process reasonably fast. We'll keep improving the algorithm and make the stitching more efficient, so a higher resolution can be used.

k

i dont mind waiting for it stitch, it should have a progress bar instead of just a spinning "processing" wheel... like it has when calibrating the gimbal it shows the % done it is

this feature could be incredibly good if they can manage to get hires images

it also should give an option of exporting the individual photos for anyone that wants to stitch on their own on a the computer

I will stitch my own panoramas, as long as the phone uses the maximum quality of the phone.

Maybe stitch a low quality panorama for sharing, but keep the original high resolution photos for manual stitching later on PC or with other software.

You folks really need to hire some user experience product managers. You have shipping software completely backwards.

If you know the feature is bad, as you clearly acknowledge, why launch it half baked?
