Very innovative indeed, It's truly amazing the technology that's built into this little gem.
And when you finally get to hold one in your hand you will not believe the build quality. It's heavy, solid, and does not have any kind of plastic feel whatsoever.

Some kind of official announcement on the website - and how did Samsung respond? Are they doing anything or not?

The "mobile system" of the Samsung S7 is 'Android'. All the other Android apps work fine, the Android app that doesn't work and crashes the phone mid-flight is the DJI Go app. I really don't see how you can just brush that off as being nothing to do with DJI?

Heh, shouldn't I wait to see what the Phantom 5 will be like? You know even though I have about 100 flights on my Phantom 4 now, I am still on the first set of props and they are perfect. I just wipe the bug juice off them from time to time. That's thanks to hand catching it every time (with great care). As much as I would love a Mavic, I am not sure if it can be hand caught safely.

DJI will continue to innovate

It seems that the Mavic is designed in a way that makes it an urban drone.  It needs a smooth flat surface.  The lack of legs to clear grass or other small surface object during take off and landings limits it utility out in the wild.  If you have to take a launch pad with you it limits it portability.

Third parties will probably address the legs but now the package gets bigger.  Carry a launch pad and the package gets bigger.

With the Mavic RC, no. It does have a standard size USB on the bottom too but I think only one output works at a time. So you can use either the side micro USB or the bottom USB to your device.

Not in many places I have been.  Often the flat spots have tall grass.  Not sure how well the back props do as weed-eaters.

Not all grass can be stomped down that easily. And recently in the mountains of Colorado flat smooth places were at times few and far between and not always available at filming locations for a craft with the stature of the Mavic.

Ken your unbridled enthusiasm is evident.  But dismissing some of the limitations of any craft makes one seem less credible.  Is there one yet that doesn't have any?

How do you get to these remote locations in Colorado that have no flat surfaces? Surely there has to be somewhere in the thousands of acres that you refer to that has a square yard of suitable ground.

Yes, you can buy a DJI M600 and the rotors are a few feet off the ground. And you can use a DSLR too.

Or if you get a P4, you can take off from the case it comes with.
DJI should have an aircraft for whatever your purpose is.

Hello, I'm going to buy mavic drone but its price in Poland is 40% higher than in USA.. so I have a question about educational discount. Can I buy it from dji store with students discount or it's too fresh model ?

DJI almost got me a second time..

It's a nice product but....  the height limit is such a huge problem for me.  There's gotta be a simple solution like unlocking an NFZ or something related to the NFZ programming that will allow more height in certain areas.  ugh...

How will the plastic hold up? I don't care! It's just so damn sexy looking. DJI has the knack of creating beautiful machinery.  Going to get me one. LOL. As soon as I can afford one.

I'm in the market for a drone and it appears the Phantom and Mavic are two separate product lines.  Is this a correct assumption?  Are there plans to continue Phantom development (P5, P6, P3000, etc)?   Thank you!  Rigo

What's the reason you need to fly more than 500m above ground level.
All DJI aircraft now are limited to 500m AGL.
By default, it's set to 120m, but you can adjust it anywhere up to 500m.

Wait until you hold one in your hands, it feels nothing like a Phantom.
The Mavic is built extremely durable and you will truly be impressed.

Yes, the Mavic and Phantom are two totally different aircraft.
The Phantom line is not going anywhere and DJI will continue to innovate and blow your mind
