I live in the rocky mountains and hike / backpack / camp all year.  500M is very low in the mountains.

It's 500 mtr above ground level, not sea level. Should be enough right?

The lowest mountains we climb are 700m above ground, average are 900m I would say.  

for example, Mount Yamnuska is 828m - this one I can land and do a new home point, most I cannot.  The p3p flies in minutes what takes me an hour to climb.

Ah ok, I misunderstood. I thought you wanted to take them with you when you climbed up the higher mountains, not so much film them from the valley...

The 500m AGL restriction cannot be altered, if you are able to reset home points and keep climbing then that's great.

I believe you can only use one output at a time, either the side micro USB or the bottom USB.

I flew DJI PHANTOM 3 STANDARD it works good but during 50 to 100 m of flight the all GPS signal goes off and on. While GPS signal lost message come to gsm go home so anyone guide me to fix it please. Thanks for your advice.

I have been interested in drones since DJI first started but just never felt they where perfected until I saw the Mavic. I ordered the kit and 4 extra batteries, 8 extra props and all connector cables offered... Just to make sure.
From what I have seen this is what I have waited all these years for.

So you're trying to fly higher than a 700m high mountain with take off from the base of the mountain?  That's a pretty niche situation, and implies you're hoping there's no low flying aircraft or helicopters flying over the top of the mountain, from an unseen direction.....

The 500 m limit is from your take off point, irrespective of the actual altitude. You need higher, go climb a mountain...

that is true but if you think about how portable the magic is compared to the phantom its a deal breaker. With some recent footage it has been proven that the magics camera is BETTER than the Phantom 4. It preforms better in lowlight conditions and the sky and sunsets look way better than on the phantom 4. The propellers also very surprisingly never get into the propeller unless you are taking very sharp turns in sport mode. It is insane how little propellers you see in the footage compared to the phantom 4. And its not just for instagramers but even some people who need pro footage can use mavic. If you are wondering where i got all this information pls watch iphonedo's video It really shows how much better phantom 4 is than magic. Hope this helps your decision.

I believe it matches or outperforms the P3 and 4 in all important criteri ...

The only reason a Phantom 4 would be better than the mavic is that you can view the lifestream on a tablet. Also that you have a wider feeld of view. Other than that there is no difference in fact the magic outperforms phantom in high winds.
and the reason i think the pricing is so high in australia is 1. because dji can make extra money, and two because shipping costs a lot because your package has to travel by air while in america we have stores here and ground transportation is a lot cheaper than air.

currently they are not even out yet and they do not know the price range. although most rumors say it will be around $699, which is quite pricey. When the goggles will become for sale it is fairly certain that you can buy it separately.

there might not be a phantom 4 pro because if you think about it we would have heard about it. like the phantom 3 and the mavic the pro version was released first and then the standard. so i don't really know.

yes because the phantom and all other dji products don't use ocusync technology. only the mavic has that so far.

At least you got an actual shipping date. Most of us early buyers (I was Sept 28) haven't heard anything specific beyond "middle of October" which may or may not be true.

I made my purchase September 28th as well.  Sent an email to DJI and was told "early November" for a shipping date based on my order number.  I thought it would it would at the very least be sometime in October.

So when are you going to release the Black version of the Phantom 4 I saw in the HK store (by accident)?

It's a pity that there is no HDMI output. With the quality of 1080p transmission available for Mavic, HDMI output should be added.

Hope that DJI could include it as an option in future like what they did for P3P (i.e. could change with HDMI board)

I order mine on the 1st of oct and they said first come first serve and that the first batch is being push to November, they did not tell me a specific date but they told me that my order like the first come first serve will be push to November.

yeah i contacted them to make sure payment was cleared and the guy said mine was due to ship out nov. 5th. I hope it wasn't pushed back that will suck!
