Hi,  Does any DJI member of the forum knows if the new DJI WIRELESS GOOGLES designed for the MAVIC works with the Phantoms as well? The resolution of 1080p and the wireless technology put this googles on the podium of the market right now. Thanks

I'm afraid that this googles only works with the MAVIC due to the "Ocusync"communication that both uses.

I'm just going to go ahead and say that they'll be compatible with both the Phantom 4 and the Inspire 1. I'm very sure about it.

I was wondering the same that if they will work with the inspire unfortunately there arent enough pictures yet nor specs posted to determine that ... could be the package I was looking for Mavic Pro+Goggles and use the same ones on the Inspire - else it would be a bit -= well ... iffy ...

@DJI-Ken - any idea when the manuals will be published? And when the details on the goggles will be published?

The goggles will only work with the Mavic as the video is transmitted via OcuSync.

If you had only one pair, would you be able to control the drone with the normal remote and see on your phone while a 'passenger' uses the goggles?

I'll going to wait till Black Friday, I hope. Will it have the same operating features as the P4? Meaning, if you know the P4, you can easily start right away flying this ?

I use fatshark dominators with my phantom 3, the only thing that would prevent me from purchasing the mavic is that if my fatsharks are not compatible, cant see the point of a compact drone with a massive headset, its a brilliant piece of kit but if no fatsharks then staying with the p3 ;)

I don't think you'll be using your Dominators with the Mavic. Technically it's sort of possible but you'd need the Nvidia Shield tablet which has hdmi out.

I don't think so, not unless there's an HDMI in and I don't think it does.

So i would be a cool option to offer an OcuSync sender that takes hdmi source (or even SDI tool)

I hate to bring this up but isn't It illegal to fly with goggles? Perhaps in racing it is excused, but even then you are not watching your drone as the regs say we should be.  With goggles you are watching from the drone and not at the drone.  Line of sight I think they call it.

Don't think I'm not going to fly over the lake in front of my house in first-person goggle mode though.   I'll just have a spotter watching the drone for me.

Btw -- ANY indication on when they are going to release the price for this thing?

I would have to agree that flying with goggles in the USA outdoors is technically illegal at this point in time.  I know the FPV racers are working to get the FAA to amend the regulations to allow it.  But as I understand it right now goggles are only allowed if you are flying the drones indoors.  Most FPV racing events are being held indoors for this reason.

I know this is upsetting news for all those people flying with Fat Shark goggles... But technically if you are using them outdoors it's breaking the FAA regulations for now.

As it says on the FAA web site...  "Must keep the aircraft in sight (visual line-of-sight)".

You can read more about it here:

https://www.faa.gov/uas/getting_started/

Don't get mad at me...  I did not make the rules...  I just know it has forced the official organized FPV competitions indoors.  And the FPV organizations are working with the FAA toward some sort of provision to  for FPV flying events.

Stupid bureaucrats. It's far safer to fly using FPV that estimating distances from a distance which is completely inaccurate due to lack of DoF.

I've got the feeling that the new DJI Goggles will cost around $700 which is going to be be a bitter pill to swallow as that is the same price as the Mavic all over again.

Sometimes yes, but depending on the FPV system. Based in my experience when you fly FPV the objects appears closer than they really are, and sometimes could be confuse for me...so if you see your aircraft with your human eyes estimating the distance and watching your environment should be more safer... I love to fly in FPV at medium high altitude far away from trees hoses, towers..is amazing. So the future will be a system capable to combine FPV and VLOS like the Epson BT 300 Glasses...
The politicians here in EU sees the drones as a threat...but they have some reason under the last two years of  attacks...

I would assume the HUD will be switchable.  That's how the current HDMI output works on the P3 and P4.
