One thing I noticed about PolarPro filters on my P3...  They were heavy.  It made the camera front heavy.  When DJI finally released a set for the P3 they were perfectly balanced.  I ended up selling the PolarPro set on eBay and using the DJI filters.

Not saying the PolarPro Mavic filters will be heavy too...  I am just relating my past experience.

That's interesting.

I guess it will have to be some sort of "slip on" cap.  That means it will add weight to the front off the camera.  I suppose you can counter balance it on the back?

The bubble will have internal reflections and cause image degradation.

I don't think there's a way to counterbalance it.
We'll have to wait and see what they come up with.
The camera is so tiny that whatever used will be very lightweight.

I am guessing it will be a plastic slip on cap like a slip on lens cap.  Friction will keep it in place.
But those engineers at DJI are clever.  They may surprise us with a more clever design.

DJI is all about innovation, they will continue to release aircraft that will blow your mind.

They should make them out of UNOBTANIUM.

Also, how does the CP function?  I do not see how it rotates, unless we are to pull it off & push it on several times until it's "perfect."

Yes, it will make the camera heavier than it is now.
These filters we designed are extremely light-weight and will not need to be counterbalanced.

That goes for both sets of filters:

Correct, we did not design the rotating ring because that made the filters too heavy.

Its very simple to rotate a push on filter, you just pull it off a little, rotate, and push back on all the way.

Yeah but you should clearly state that Mavic's gimbal initialization will fail if PolarPro filter is installed prior to powering up the drone.  Installing your filters after the initialization sequence is impractical at best.

Define impractical? I did a battery change a filter change and it was practically easy.

Filter is too big and the lens hits the gimbal.  Anyone has the same issue with the PGY-TECH filter?

If the gimbal is active it compensate for movement every seconds. If you install the filter when the gimbal is powered on maybe you can damage the gimbal that try to compensate the force you make to install filter.

They are working on it, and I don't know the method it will be for attachment.

DJI filters are in the works.

I have the Polar Pro filters and they look great. Some said they were loose, mine fit perfectly.

Is there any update on DJI producing filters for the Mavic Pro. I am concerned about using 3rd party ones in case they cause an issue with the gimbal.

Yes, the Description and the Reviews will show you that they need to be installed after gimbal start-up.

hi guys, can someone explain to me how those filters work? what i see is that, for best shooting, we need to set iso 100 and and the shutter to 50 (2 times of fps). so if we do that there is a lot of light coming through the camera. but which filter will reduce that light? i see that there are 4 or 5 nd filter (4-8-16-32ND and UV). so please someone explain that to me =)

thank you Jeff that was a great info, now i know why i should buy them. unfortunately i live in Turkey, and there is a limitation of 35 euros for importing for individual purchases (for no tax payment). if i go EU or USA i will buy them =)
