I have asked that same question to DJI and they say it is unlikely...

It is to bad they have bloated the App with so many types of aircraft and devices.

Hi Rich, not only have the made the app bloated, but if you have more then 1 craft and they need different apps versions to run properly on different platforms? You can have dedicated devises but that becomes a nightmare to synch in iTunes if you are using IOS. As it is now,  they fix something on one craft and another require a different app version to function.

I couldn't find any difference when choosing Gimbal Control or Focus. The C1 button now gives you control over focus when you long press it, although that may be only new to me. C2 is back as it was though and that's nice to have.

Thanks so much, Rich.  I looked at the Go App roll back link and I think I'm gonna cry uncle on that one.  I don't have my tablet handy, but I know that I was prompted to update and I chose to, so chances are pretty good I don't have an older version of the app on the tablet anywhere.  When I get it in my hands, I will look on iTunes.  I have to believe that the demand for rollback on Apps can't be limited to a few, so hopefully DJI, Apple or a third party will figure out how to simplify the procedure.

For now, I'm going to rollback the bird and the RC and hope for the best.

You mentioned the 32 channel hack, is that a complicated matter?

Thanks for the update! I'm really hoping they handled some of the issues in the last app. It's been REALLY frustrating.

The Mavic does not have a fixed focus lens and I am sure they have some built-in adjustment for the camera

Chris, The new version 3.01 worked for me today and seems to be stable. Please see the information by Terry Lewis regarding the channel hack:

DJI Lightbridge uses radio channels which are within the ISM bands to transmit video back to the RC. The P3 has antennas in the vertical legs of the landing gear that communicate with the RC on 2.400 GHz - 2.483 GHz. DJI initially implemented 32 channels within this band but later discovered that only 8 channels (13 -> 20) were legally available. The other frequencies are in used by ham radio, satellite comm,  or are used by wireless carriers in various countries. Sploodge offered a hack to enable custom selection of the original 32 channels here: http://forum.dji.com/forum.php?m ... 7&fromuid=44480
Use at your own discretion! Those channels outside DJI 13 to 20 may not be legally usable. See this spreadsheet for specific channel usage:

In firmware update 1.410, DJI has added an initial check for radio interference and alerts you to check your settings if it senses high interference within the spectrum. The radio settings and signal graph are located in the GO App under HD Video Link Signal Strength .

Configured for the US, the RC has two setting -> AUTO & CUSTOM (European CE restricts Custom Selection). With AUTO, the RC selects the channel it thinks is best/optimum.  You may also select CUSTOM and select your own channel. Channels with interference have a tall red bar in the graph. Stable channels are green and show no bar at all. In my area in the US, channel 20 has no interference at all, so I select this channel under CUSTOM and get excellent and stable performance.

The 8 channels that are available for our use can also be used by wireless routers and repeaters, so depending on where you live and fly, you can get significant interference. Our RC defaults to automatic channel selection from channels 13 to 20, and can change channels if significant interference is detected before or during flight.

Rich... I have to say that I doubt the missing functions were an error or an oversight. My guess would be that the problem is that marketing is rushing the coders to get things done. In this case it would be Mavic related. It appears that they are making some changes/additions to the C1/C2 buttons and had to release the update before that section of code was complete. You also need to keep in mind how complex these machines are. I remember thinking about throwing a small camera on an R/C plane 25 years ago and since then we have progressed through the GoPro stage to where we are now. I can fly a perfectly programmed, repeatable flight using Autoflight Logic's app with the only function missing being focus. I'll never be on the bash DJI bandwagon. These guys are doing amazing things and we tend to take it all for granted.

You are most likely correct... I am not bashing DJI just hopeful they are listening to us. I am very pleased with my DJI products and think they are advancing this craft. I really do not like the Go App to control everything and wish they would breakout some of the other products with their own software.

I am using the iPad mini 4, iPad mini 2 and iPhone 7.... I think the difference is I am using the X3 camera with fixed focus. You must have the X5 camera.

I flew again today without any issues at all

When you decide to use it, I put this on the camera contacts and the USB cable ends.  Works great and you will see some good improvement.

Is not when you have a long-press on your screen ?
This option offers your to choose between the control of your gimbal with your finger and the focus (or nothing) when you doing a long press with your finger on your screen.

That's what I understand when I read the options.
