Can i take still shots whilst filming.  It seems to stop the film function.
Also. While flying, if i reduce altitude by pulling the stick all the way down, will the motors cut out as that is the wat to power it down? Of does that only happen at zero altitude

Pulling left stick down is the ONLY way to descend the vehicle.  Pulling left stick down for engine shutdown only works when you are on the ground.

You can shoot stills or video, but not at the same time.
Left stick down cutting the motors isn't related to altitude.
It cuts the motors when it can feel that it isn't descending any more for 3 secs, despite the left stick being held down.
You can land and shut down at any altitude above or below take-off point.
It's quite safe to descend with left stick down.  That won't shut down the motors in flight.

I wasn't sure so I've  pulled the left stick down about 80% just in case. Thanks for the confirmation  

Airborne, you will NOT kill the engine with full LEFT stiick down.
