Saw a new android app for p3s which enables you to boost/control dbi output of rc & ac??

Anyone tried this app? Is it worth buying? Is it the Standard range HOLY GRAIL?????

Where did you read about this? I doubt any app can change the power output.

Well, this might be interesting to see the results if anyone wants to give it a go.

I had to manually change the software to increase the range of my PS3 (and not I wont tell you how to do it), and happy with 2.5 mile range with no signal loss, so I know it is possible.

So hopefully this little app can do what it says.
If it does, DJI might request google remove that app from the play store.  

This site is NOT the site to promote or discuss any mods in my view, they (DJI) look down on such things. You should be posting and discuss such things on the "Phantom Pilot" forum site, not this one. There you'll find like minded people that like to mod, as you can see you already got replies being negative about it here. And to "microcyb" I might think about deleting a link to a software mod on DJI's own site for the reason stated above, it's like rubing their face in it. This and other software mods are discussed at length on the other site and are not looked down at by others, including DJI as it is here.

There is free software on phantom pilots that does the same thing.
65+ pages on it.
Been there for months.

Very interesting if it really works. So, that's one more question! As i see there is no version for IOS, so, if I use it from android platform and set power to max, when I connect via iOS parameters will stay at max level?
And I forgot about both batteries drain? Do I?

I agree, this really isn't the place to be waving this around, unless you really WANT the company to force-update your firmware and prevent you, and the rest of us, from using it?

Well this forum is all things DJI related.  DJI knows I absolutely embrace DJI products and you wont see me posting anything negative about them.
it is always stressed that any mods made will void your warrenty so do at your own risk, but when you state don't promote third party software or mods that is designed for DJI that is just means you are way late to that party.

Litchi, healthydrones, and others are a regular discussion in here as well as other products like windsurfers, and landing gears, range extenders, and more have been posted many times..

DJI does not look down at those things as they learn from it to make and improve their own product line.  
Now granted this app might not be a something DJI would like users to do as again that would void the users warranty, but for other users they do that kind of thing knowing that if they crash they need to buy a new DJI bird.

So, unless you live in North Korea, you should know people in here talk about all things DJI and what they can do.

Only agree to a point. DJI does look down on all third party apps and mods. I have read many replies by reps that you can sense this, sometime being direct about it. You mentioned Litchi and HealthyDrones, which are two great products, and the DJI reps trash talk about them all the time. Now about mods. Hardware mods are one thing and software mods completely different. Yes if you open up your RC or AC and change something it would void your warranty if still in effect. But when you're talking about code (software) that's very different. It's overriding their FW, something they might take issue with. Case in point, they just recently encrypted the flight logs in your device so now you can't upload them to "http://www.phantomhelp.com/LogViewer/Upload/" that we could do before. HealthyDrones has figured out how to unencrypt them, maybe till the next app update? My main point here is that I feel this site is better suited for all things DJI (but stock), and the PhantomPilots forum is MUCH better suited for all things DJI (including mods). It's just very obvious if you're a member of both, which I am. Can you find threads on this site about mods, of course. But the discussion seems much deeper and you get a quicker back and forth when you post a thread or reply on the other forum. It's ok to have other forums besides the manufacturer's site, there's a few good ones out there.

Yes both have a place, but when a third party app for DJI goes public this also helps DJI to know about them. Did DJI approve that app? Maybe not, but posting here helps them to be aware of it.
If they find it creates issues with the company product, they will have google play remove it.
Hacks from phantom pilots are more hidden to the public and not designed as a revenue based software but I am sure DJI also wants to know about it.
Unlike makerbot who first was open source, DJI has always been proprietary software so encryption is something they should do to protect their product line.

So back to this droid app. Will this app cause harm to the users product? Possibly.  Do they have disclaimers in the app? Don't know.
Should DJI be aware of it? Yes.
So guess what, now they know.

Will I keep modding my DJI? Yup.
Will I keep buying DJI products? Yup.
Do they know I mod and goof around with their stuff? Yup
Is my warrenty voided? Big yes.
And now for some entertainment:

I doubt DJI could have it removed from the play store.
What grounds could they have?
You can get apps to root your phone so how is a power hack any different?

And yes it is appropriate to discus it here.
You talk about after market props.
You talk about argtek antennas.
You talk about landing gear mods.
None of which came from DJI.

All of these mods just make the next generation of birds better.
If people wants these new features some manufacturer will give them to us.
DJI doesn't want to get caught behind the curve.
