Hey guys, just pre-ordered the mavic pro. I live in the UK, and am wondering if I will have to pay any import duties or taxes when it gets here? Do you any of you know?

Where did you order the Mavic from, DJI Store?

If it was the DJI store you will pay no additional tax , customs or postage

I believe DJI use an agent in the UK to complete all orders so the agent will receive a bulk delivery and then ship out to all UK address

If it's a proper retailer in the UK or direct from DJI you shouldn't have any issues with additional taxes or customs charges.

In Canada I ordered from Candrone because I wanted to be sure to avoid the criminal rates border brokers charge. Good to know in future that I can order direct from DJI, but also I am happy to support an independent Canadian distributor. I am curious to know if they are sending the exact same unit out worldwide, or if the various broadcast standards are detected with GEO SYSTEMS. Since I am a licenced radio amateur I can transmit up to 5 watts in the 2.4 ghz band. Would prefer to be flying with FAA rated power of 23 dmb.

You are still regulated by Transport Canada.  Make sure to look up their Dos and Don'ts.  Also the rules are changing after December 16, 2016 in Canada.

Taxes and duties are already paid, its most likely your ordered will be sent from Netherlands or Germany it those country's who will then forward your order to U.K. Agents thEre will be no taxes or duties to be paid, it is same in Ireland and it was the same when I purchased P4

I wonder if anyone can help me/has experience with this import tax - My Mavic Combo is sitting in the DHL depo in Belfast, UK (finally!), with a £176 import tax charge unpaid. I went down to get it today and can't until this is settled. I have emailed onlinesales@dji twice now, since Saturday, marked urgent, with no reply. I've been on sales and tech chat with no help. I really don't want to pay the fee as I know that DJI will never repay me (based on experience up to date of the poor service), but I can't leave it long or DHL will ship back to DJI!
Anyone any ideas??

You can check your order from the store page.
Did you pay in £ ?
If your order number starts with 44 then I believe that's a UK order.
All UK store orders include tax and duty so you must have used another store ?

I bought mine direct from the DJI store. Seems the best place to order from.

It arrived by DHL Express, and where were no additional charges. DJI already pays all these charges so there is nothing additional to pay.

I'll probably order direct again when I need some accessories (when they are available), can't beat the service.

Spending money is one thing, wasting money is completely different. DJI have clearly stated in their help section that all taxes are included in the price and that if the person who made the order is slapped with an import fee or any other tax for that matter, they should immediately get in touch with the sales team.

I've now emailed 3 times, phoned, tweeted, been on chat a number of times. No one except onlinesales@dji seems to be able to help, and they aren't responding. So close but so far!!

Just for anyone who comes across this - After multiple calls, tweets, emails and online chats it was the email to onlinesales that worked in the end, 4 days after it was sent I got a reply and DHL delivered without me having to pay!
