Anyone here who placed an order on the 27th, and recieved a delivery date? I am leaving the country on Oct. 28th for a 2 months excursion in Asia, and am concern it wont arrive in time. Reached out to pre-sales, however they didnt provide much info, other then they'll start shipping on the 15th.

My bad, I wasn't reading your post correctly. You should be in the wave and hopefully it will be there in time for your trip.

The Mavic is well worth the wait, all who ordered will be truly amazed when you finally get to open the box.

I order mine on the 1st of Oct and is in the same situation as your for what I am guessing you will have yours first than me its first come first serve order.... But a rep told me that it will start shipment on the 15 I think they would start earlier this week so by the 15 we have our drones I might not get it till the end of Oct...

In this world of new drone tech, 3 or 4 days is a long time to wait before placing and order. I placed my mavic order about 4 hours after it went live for preorder and I don't expect to get my mavic till mid November. I hope they DJI ships your order mid October but I have my doughts.

That would be pretty bad planning by them if they can't even fulfil orders made within the first 4 hours. I ordered the following day and I will be pretty disappointed if it does not arrive before the end of October.

I dont mind the wait, but would be nice they would provide an eta so that i know what to do. it would be a total bummer going on my trip without a drone, so my only option at this point is to wait till the 25th. if no eta is provided, then i need to buy a phantom 4.
funny thing is that i bought a P4 on September 27th. Came home turn on TV, and saw Jon Olsons unvieling the Mavic on youtube. {:4_142:} went back to apple store and returned the P4 the following day. lol

When there's an update to your order the status should change. Be patient, should be too long.

I managed to get a bit of info today from the online chat. I ordered mine on the 27th September at 19:32 (UST) which I think is 18:32 UTC and they said mine won't be shipped until early November then 3-5 days shipping after that. If it's a fair system then I ordered mine before yours so I wouldn't be too hopeful you will get it before your trip I'm afraid dude

Holy crap!   You ordered the same day it was announced and your ship date is Nov?

I ordered mine on Sept 30.  The pre sales chat people said I would receive mine early November.  They also stated anything ordered now, will not be seen till mid November.
Bestbuy in Canada has

Release Date: November 15, 2016

                                                 Free delivery arrives as early as Nov 16th

Bestbuy in US has

Lot of other online places show End of October.

I'm gutted to be honest. I presumed ordering on the release day would pretty much sort me a mid October dispatch!! I may aswell have kept my £1000 and ordered from the Apple Store early November

What is being reported by DJI support seems to be varying wildly by who you talk to.   I'm going to go out on a limb and say they don't have concrete info and so that's why different customer reps are saying different things.

Agree'd, everytime i speak to someone, they give me different dates. They are just fighting flames till they have a concrete shipping date i think.

I've been given 17th October, mid to late October, 4th November and mid Novemeber lol ... will see what happens after this weekend.

Just to follow up on my last comment. I've just spoken to the chat team again and this agent again said on the system the ship date is marked as the 01/11/16......however. He said the system isn't accurate as someone from HQ has told them that the first wave will defo be shipped mid October and if I ordered on release date then chances are I will be included in that. He just advised to sit tight and wait for a update

yea I ended up putting a deposit on another one from a local dealer who say they'll get a shipment by the 20th. I'm just going to wait till end of this week, and if still no update from DJI, i am going to cancel the order. Can't take the risk of going on vacation without a drone.

I hope the orders do go out on time.

I ordered on the 29th. My only saving grace is that the DJI guys in Europe are an extremely fast bunch. They have been amazing fast for service and my phantom 4, ordered two days post launch, arrived a few days post the official shipping date. Hopefully the same will happen with my Mavic order.

Let me tell you a customer service/sales trick. Give them the furthest out date with in reason. This way you aren't calling every day checking for updates. If you get it a week or two early you are happy  and thrilled they look like heroes.

I was told Nov 1st due to some shipping delays from China. ( Due to Hanjin going bankrupt and causing shipping chaos at ports)

You are provided a better experience, better policies (longer return period), easier to exchange when you get a defective part, and you get it sooner than doing a pre-order direct with DJI if you just order from an authorized dealer that is stocking it first in the US like Apple did last time. I really see no upside to ordering direct...

dont know but it would be nice if they provide some info. Wether it's on-time or delayed, they need to keep customers informed. Charging credit card on Sept 27th, with zero update since is unacceptable and bad business practice. In my case, I will be out of country for 2 months starting Nov 28th, therefor concern. Heck most retailers here in US will not charge credit card until item is shipped.

Where are DJI moderator to help answer questions? lol

If Hanjin was the problem the items would have to have been shipped at least a month ago if not more to have been affected.  
Hanjin is a comparatively small shipping company and the demand for shipping is low. I guess it depends how they ship to individual customers in individual countries. Are they shipped in bulk to distribution centres in various countries or are they shipped direct by air mail.

Just got to wait till the 15th and see whose start shipping.

Pretty sure the problem is that it's not October 15th yet.    :p

It's almost a week before the announced ship date and everyone is wondering why they're late.

Honestly, normally I wouldn't care when they ship but I'm moving out of the country at the beginning on Nov and need to know if I should cancel my order.

Wow. Thank god I read this forum post before pulling the trigger on buying directly through DJI. Personally I don't think the mavic was quite ready for mass delivery which is why the confusion exists. Coincidence that the so-called release date is 8 days before the release of Karma? Anybody watch the Steve Jobesque release of Mavic on Sept. 27th? It was arranged a bit earlier to upstage GoPro. Karma will be in Apple stores as well alongside their GoPro 5 cameras, so the marketing ploy to be "first" is understandable if you are in DJI's shoes. More proof exists when you consider the DJI googles which pair with Mavic through occusync. No release date or price. Again, not ready for production or their are still bugs that need to be ironed out.
How would all those who purchased the Mavic feel when the true bundle of Mavic plus goggles comes out and it is cheaper...meaning those who pre-ordered won't get the benefit of bundle price. Taking all this into consideration, it might be wise  to look at the history of DJI and GoPro and why the marketing war to be "first", not only in the foldable drone market, but with the Apple customer...then you start to understand why.
For anyone who cares...it was reported that GoPro and DJI were in talks to develop a drone together...but things fell apart when GoPro demanded 2/3 the profits. Google the story..interesting read. Anyways, the Sept 27 announcement was intended to upstage the Karma announcement. What DJI forgot was that plenty of people thought they would get their drones by Oct. 19 as a sure thing. But in the world of business, not is a sure thing....in the end you can't blame them, even if it means you won't be getting you Mavic until mid November.
