So i had like a huge Holy fuck moment when i flew the other day..
all was good, until something happend. Either Huge gustwinds up there,, OR somehow it got confused by the highpowerd cables for the railroad way way down below..

And yes, the tablet recording was at 15FPS and the Drone at 25,, so its a slight missmatch, deal with it ^^

hehe well, 0:15 to 0:23 the is drone going backwards, in quick very rapid movement, almost like someone is pushing it, showing its leg (never done that before for me), and if you see the recording of the DJI app, i´m not moving any controls either,, scary scary for me at least,, never gotten so scared before =P

its not everyones taste i agree but we have control of our own volume button/switch so turn your radio up and watch on and enjoy

must be a swedish thing, cause "pewdiepie" uses "$^$"%"^£$%^$" language and has 48 million subscribers and IS the biggest youtuber on the planet, he used a p4 in one of his vlogs and swore loads but i bet DJI dont disagree with him and have the video removed, due to swear words. as he prob generated masive sales from using the p4....

But dont swear here, infact why dont dji use censord words? if you type the the F word it will just show as **** so save mods a job and impliment censord words

It is not a clip you are intended to 'watch and enjoy', he wants feedback. And I note that none of the usual experienced pilots has bothered offering any advice, so pretty much as I predicted.

By the time I got the fucking sound turned down and my ears quit ringing the vid was over. I was unable to offer any feedback on the flight.   {:4_142:}

Yup, wind.  You can see the landing gear entering the frame at an angle.  The bird was flying at an angle to compensate for the wind.

that must have been some huge winds, never seen anything like it..

And the trees down where i was, it was so calm.

well well, got me thinking of safe flights at least, and to never judge the wind by how it´s at the ground level.

Hi getexsm,

For what it is worth, I was just flying in Pennsylvania this weekend.  There were moderate winds at ground level.  As soon as I got the bird up a hundred feet or so, the landing gear on one side entered the frame because of a side wind.  It wasn't too windy overall, but the bird tilts into it pretty strongly to keep its GPS/VPS location.

Hi. Yes my p 4 did the same I went to fly and the craft went crazy I even went to home mode and the craft did not respond to that as well. I reset everything and did the IMU took the craft out for a test flight and this time she went down lucky no damage so I went to the DJI site and did a update on all the firmware even the remote and after doing this she took off fine and no problems I've notice when a new model comes out like the mavic and before I had the p4 I had the p3 and right around that same time my p 3 went crazy just like my p4 did yesterday.. I find this odd that the craft really acts up when I new model is released I hope DJI is not sending a crazy signal to make them crash so one can buy a new model.  I'm just trying to vent here anyone have the same problem? Thanks

Strong winds can be lurking up there buddy, I was out yesterday, very calm at my home point, got to about 60 meters, & switched to ATT mode for some fun flying, My bird went off sideways at a faster speed than I;ve ever flown! I'm thinking Oh no a flyaway! (first reaction ,eh) I;ve got control & trying to bring her towards me but, shes loosing ground & slowly going away from me, Finally, I switched to P & she sat there, gps holding her quite steady,  but still going away. I brought  bird down to 10 meters & all was normal.
Certainly gets the blood flowing eh!

One thing to consider.  You are flying around hills.  As a pilot, (private aircraft, not drones), I have experienced wind hitting the rising terrain.  It is called Mountain waves.  On the ground, the winds seem to be nice and easy, but once you get up, the chop can be quite interesting.  Columns of air pushing the craft up, then twisting you about.  At least you didn't hit a strong updraft that sent the drone over the hill, followed by wind shear that smashed it into the ground.

This is a very good point, and one reason why helicopters in particular do not fly low around mountains and ridges.
