Hi,

Lost video connection with my Phantom 4 and aircraft got disconnected so now I have no idea where it is and how to find it.

Was trying to report the case but stupid me never cared about saving the S/N so not sure how I can report it.

Any help?

Hello, sorry to hear about your situation, please sync your flight record firstly and then send an e-mail to support@dji.com with the info when it happened and your DJI account username, we will help you analyze it and deal with this case.
Here is the tutorial about how to sync your flight records:

Go to http://www.phantomhelp.com/LogViewer/Upload/
Follow the instructions to upload your flight record.

Come back and post a link to the report it provides and someone might be able to analyse it and give you a likely location to search.

If you still have the box the Phantom came in, you'll find the serial numbers on the sticker with the bar code.

Yes, but will you tell him where his aircraft is?

How did you lose video connection and how did aircraft get disconnected? did you run out of battery or did you fly too far out?

Had 23% battery left, wasn't too far from the aircraft but I was on the move (on a boat)  but apparently there is a military area nearby so not sure if that might have caused this issue

If you were on a boat and nearby, there should have been a clear line of sight to the Phantom where the signal was lost which was only 30 metres inland from the beach at 6.71224864S  39.23360288E .. See the picture.
I'm a little puzzled why you were getting a few short breaks in the video signal but that probably doesn't matter.

The big issue is that your Phantom thought that it was 3.5 kilometres from home and in an RTH situation, that is where it would have tried to go to.
However, there is no sign of RTH until 19:03 at 25% battery when you regained signal after a 9 second lapse.  The Phantom starts returning toward the recorded home point.
it only travels 145 metres north before the flight record ends with the Phantom at 100 feet altitude.
There's no record of any crash ... the record just stops.
It appears that RTH as cancelled 1 second before the flight record stops.
Battery level is 23% and 14.6 volts - not enough to go back to the launch point.
It's uncertain what happens after this point.
If it was still in RTH it would have continued north until 10% and landed but RTH was cancelled.
There's no indication of any problem due to a military base.

When you are a long way from home on a moving boat, you must reset the Phantom's home point so the Phantom doesn't try to go all the way back.

What was your RTH setting at ? Hover, RTH or land ??
Also within the Go app you can play back the flight, and it will show you the last know cords at signal loss.

I read it as being same place Labroides mentions, from the speed, pitch and roll changes at the time it disappeared I'd guess at maybe a bird strike (then losing battery) or someone shot it? Looks too high for someone to hit it with a hosepipe!

Definitely take a look around the area mentioned above, it's there somewhere.

Labroides, is it normal for the drone to suddenly switch out of RTH mode to P-GPS?

It is if you cancel RTH by pushing the button on the controller or the X on the screen.

That's the only thing I could think of, doesn't look like movement of sticks during that time so was wondering about the sudden pitch change though, or maybe just affect of braking coming out of RTH? Still odd that it just stops there.

Who said it was an air base? Military can mean naval or army as well.

It's a military camp, no flights happening in this area
