ok so i have downgraded the controller firmware and everything is working much better.   whew i could not fly with the firmware update and believe me i tried.  the only issue i have is that the main bar up top is say8ing that  i need to do a firmware update and i want to get that to stop scrolling in red across the screen - is there a way to do that?

dropping to rc 1.6 seems to be the universal for the damage done by 1.8 upgrade

doesn't it suck to see a working unit get disable by a unneeded fix?

dji needs to kill the 1.8 update
recording at 2.7 is not as important as SEEING the STREAM...

i spoke too soon - the downgrade to 1.6 made the wifi connection much much better but i could not take off without reuploading the 1.8 firmware - it kept saying magnetic interference.... so i downloaded it and then boom now it seems to be working really good.  alot better than ever before.  i will keep you all updated. but all i  did was downgrade to 1.6 then reupload the new 1.8 firmware update..

I watch for that myself
in the past when that came up it usually meant I was near metal or something inducing interference.
moving it a few feet typically fixed  that..

I am using an iPad Mini 2, and have not upgraded any firmare on the copter or the controller since i got the Phantom 4 in April this year. I never had any issues, and I always wait to see how these upgrades work befofe I do it myself. I have learnt the hard way with my old APM systems...
However, since I was caught with my pants down and forgot to switch off the iPads auto app update settings, I am now sitting with the latest DJI GO app. Now I am having bad live feed when i fly.
How do i get back to a previos version of this app?
I am not the most technical person, so if it is possible, I would like a step by step explanation on how to go back to previous versions of DJI GO-
I am not upgrading my copter nor the controller just yet. It works fine as is...

Keep auto updates off, otherwise you become part of the B.B.T.T. (Brave Beta Tester Team).

There is a detailed video to downgrade the app; I had to do so myself to go from 2.8.2 to 2.8.1:

yet another android dji app update, and i had a heck of a time getting the app come up the first time after tablet startup today...  it kept locking up and not responding.. but eventually, when it came up, it flew fine.... weird! NVidia k1 shied tablet with the latest firmware and the latest dji app.... Worked flawlessly for the most part till the last 2 or 3 Android app updates....

I took the P4 out for a flight yesterday and experienced weak transmission warnings and green/black choppy screens throughout the flight.  First time my P4 has ever done that.

I had green screens today flying around .  

I flew the same areas I flew before?? The only difference was that today we had an unusually higher temperature; it went from 45 to 70 degrees.

I am also noticing that all my recent flights, even though my HD is set to Auto, the P4 is using only CH19.  *
Is this a new design?

* The ch# is in Litchilogs, and I flew about 60 hours and it stayed in CH19 throughout.  I had good signal in all  my flights, so CH19 seems to work fine in my area.

i have had that happen several times, but only when using the tablet - samsung galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition - which always worked fine since i bought my drone back when it came out.   so i switch the tablet out for my Note 4 and that takes care of the lag.  i don't know why it happens with just my tablet.

DJI, what is the reason for the reason for the lag of 3-4 seconds...why is this happening to only my tablet?  and why would it instantly work with my phone with out powering down the drone? , just swapping phone for tablet.

DJI Mindy, can you please advise if DJI is going to release the improved 1.8 update for RC in order to solve the Video Transmission issue which works on Android devices as well? I had the same issue - weak video transmission with exactly the same symptoms as Dr. One has. But with no issues if my wife's iPhone S5 is used instead of my Samsung J5 (Android 6.0.1 / DJI GO 3.0.1 / Firmware 1.9.60).

By a way, on my (Android) devise there is no possibility to turn ON (or OFF) hardware decoding from DJI GO ap AND clear background were used (no programs running in the background) during the flight.

Therefore, I was forced to downgrade RC firmware to 1.6 and now have good video transmission and waiting for the further update for RC.

to be more precise - I have P3P with RC model GL300A. I tried my Samsung on the Phantom 4 with GL300B and didn't had the Video Transmission problems on it.
Therefore, it can be that Video Transmission issue happens on RC models GL300A only.

due to RW matters I was off for two weeks and am surprised that the RC FW v1.8 problem is still not solved. Many new threads about this subject came up and no solution yet?  
To answer your question: yes, DJI Go app and MC are on the latest version. I just rolled the RC back from v1.8 to v1.6 to make that bird usabale again.
Really annoying for every user to be urged by "Update required" warning messages to break a running system...

keep in mind they actually were targeting the gl300a with this update.
ill live without 2.7 recording vs not seeing the fpv....

also cant  help but think some HDMI modules are involved somehow.
They (rc with hdmi) seemed to be first with banding , maybe even prior to 1.8

Again, I'm thinking this is much more an Android issue.  I'm using a 300A with iPad Mini 2 and latest fw on AC, RC, and app..  no issues at all..

I did say earlier though that I was getting some issues until I changed the lightning cable, so I'd suggest at least giving that a try..  I had a cheaper Amazon one on at first and as soon as I switched it to the one DJI Ken said he used (short and doesn't interfere) everything was fine..  At least worth a try perhaps..

Hardware decoding is for IOS system. Android don't have this option.

Please make sure using the device which is in our recommended device list.
Enable hardware decoding for IOS system.
Ensure that you do not have any programs running in the background.
Enter transmission settings to check if there's interference around.

New firmware update for Phantom 4 thread is the update for aircraft.
Did you check the channel in transmission settings if there's large signal interference around?
Have you tried to change another mobile device to fly?
We want to rule out if it's an issue with the aircraft or the mobile device.

The bird was flying fine for 2 and a half weeks On my galaxy s5 till an update appeared then after the Update which said Update succeed my video feed is now useless. Period. Has nothing to do with the s5 it's a recommended device Bird flew fine before update and now it doesn't. Here is a Facebook live video i shot today I pretty much kept my mouth shut because i don't think DJI wants to know what I'm thinkin' i'm into this bird at 2000 dollars Plus. And how do you downgrade? The DJI  in app updater should be taking care of all this.!!!

Maybe guys be a little more patient.

Maybe DJI is implementing my suggestion, which will transform the P4 into the "Range Champ" and "Superb video transmission Master"  so they may need a few more days.

Here is my original suggestion:

1. Please change the P4 firmware to allow us to set the streaming video to 4 mbps and Auto. Right now the Auto setting, which is the safest setting to fly, works only at the higher mbps rate. If we can set it to a lower rate, then many of the streaming video pixelation, as well as, streaming video range issue will go away.

2. Please improve the HD channel hoping. In hundreds of hours flying my P4, the channel hoped to another channel in flight only 3 times! And it did not hop in cases when I lost the HD signal. This should be a simple change for the developers.  Once the power level drops to some critical level, then they should keep changing the channel until the signal improves.   

2a) Please add the channel in your DJI GO logs.  I can only see the channel in litchi logs.  But the app does not control the channel once in flight; it is the P4 firmware.

You could downgrade the RC firmware by holding the academy-button in the DJI GO app.

After almost three weeks a revised RC FW update is overdue. Flying with a downgraded RC on v1.6 with red alert "update required" is quite annoying, because updating to v1.8 would make the bird unusable (again).
Would be nice if DJI would fix the problem and release a new FW, soon.
