The dial will work. I believe you need to hold the c1 or c2 button down and you can zoom by rotating the corresponding dial.

C1 y C1 control zoom..  yes..

Pierocassisi@al Yes you can zoom the Z3 by pressing and holding the C2 button on the back of the remote and turning the left upper dial on the remote.

Does anyone know if the Z3 can be controlled with older fw on the machine?  I'm interested in this but do not wish to upgrade the fw on the rc or machine.

Jim@recreation Not sure about that, I was already up to date when I received the Z3. I did talk to DJI before I got it and they said to work properly it needed the newest firmware. Maybe someone will chime in that has dealed with the Z3 using older firmware.

What firmware are you currently running?

Are any of you having issues with your Z3? I'm up to date on firmware and iOS device and it still is far from perfect. The latest firmware changed operation of the left wheel to cause the camera to rotate side to side, rather than pan up and down like it does on my X3. The lag and pixelation makes it frustrating to use this camera and unless I need to zoom I end up using my other Inspire with the X3 mounted. I've read a lot of complaints with the issues I've encountered and am wondering if there was a bad batch or if this is still a firmware issue. It's improved, but far from perfect. Any feedback would be appreciated. Really don't want to deal with sending it in if it's not going to resolve anything.

DJI should really recall this camera, mine has tons of issues and it's new. I was so fed up I sent it to DJI LA it's been there for 2 weeks. As soon as I get it back, I'm selling mY Inspire 1 with it...I'm done with it...

Just off the phone with DJI. Finally got someone to acknowledge all of the issues with the camera including the latest rotate rather than pan update. No bs, like please send a file or screenshot so we can see what issue you're having.... Sometime in the next month there will be a firmware update that will resolve all problems. Fingers crossed.
