Yes, if you look the Mavic announcement, you will see the amazing 1080p goggle. I really want this but no details, price, or availability has been announced yet.

I don't see why you could not plug an HDMI adapter into your mobile device and use FPV glasses that support HDMI and well.

The port on your device is taken up by the Mavic RC so you get FPV and all data on your device so that wouldn't work.
One way I see is to use an aftermarket mount that people are already making so they can use an iPad Mini and use a NVIDIA Shield K and use the HDMI out on that to your HDMI goggles.

Nope... The Port is not taken up by the Mavic RC if you plug it into the HDMI adapter.

I used my iPad Air on my P3 very nicely using Apple's lightning to HDMI adapter.  This adapter has an HDMI out and also has a free lightning input so you can still plug the Mavic RC  USB connection in at a the same time.  Works fine.  Should work fine with Mavic just like it did on the P3.

On my Nvidia Shield Tablet it has a free USB port PLUS an mini HDMI connector so you could use both simultaniously as well.  (This also worked on my P3.)
And yes...  The DJI goggles also look awsome.

If that worked for you then that's great.
Maybe post a link to it to help others as well.

I have that adapter for my iPad Air to play videos on the hotel room TV, but I only used the added lightning port for charging. Wasn't aware it was also a data port... cool

I will wait until I have tested it with a Mavic before posting.

The only issue I can see is that the HDMI adapter does add a frame or two of delay.  So do most HDMI displays.  So the combination of the adapter latency plus HDMI display latency may become an issue.

I did not notice much difference using the Apple HDMI adapter vs the DJI HDMI kit for the P3 controller.

No there is no way for the Gear VR to work as the phone connects directly into the google and there is no output port on the gear. An adapter would not work as well as the phone would no longer fit into the goggles correctly.

Please let us know if this works!

I have a set of HDMI Fatsharks and prefer the FPV experience.

This is what is stopping me from buying the Mavic Pro. If it works i'm buying one!

As soon as you plug your Galaxy into the Gear VR it'll launch the "VR mode", so no not really.

Tho there is an XPosed module you can install that'll prevent it from firing up, with Litchi you could then connect it to the remote and voila, tho the USB connector is still occupied by the Gear VR USB connector. You'd either have to mod it and extend it so you can plug it in when needed. I've not done or tried this yet tho (saw a few Reddit posts about this for the Phantom 3 already) since I don't want to destroy the Gear VR.

What about with the samsung vr gear v2 goggles with the usb connection on the outside.. someone claimed there was a way to make that usb a passthrough so the connection would work (in conjunction with litchi?).. anyone?
