Is that a crack in the gimbal at 9:02 and 9:08-9:14? Doesnt look like a smooth straight line, looks cracked.......

I don't see a catch anywhere. Maybe there is a hair on your monitor. Or maybe, you are just trying to start a rumor, or just want to find flaws. You are probably seeing the slot that the gimbal protector grabs on to. If you have not actually been hands on with one of there, then I think you should stop speculating on flaws that may or may not exist. If this was an issue, the people that actually have them would have already made a big deal of it.

it's so clear, can't understand why you can't see it. If you are looking for a catch then you won't find it..... You guys are so touchy here! I commented on what i saw in the video and it is evident that there are either two pieces put together or a crack!! and p.s. How would people have made a big deal about it if it isn't even out yet?

I do see what you are talking about, but it's not a crack. You are seeing 2 pieces. But because the shape of the junction is not flat, or straight, it could be mistaken for a crack, but it's not. Great videos tnhough. Best review yet.

That's what I'm hoping. When I look for pictures of the camera it looks like there is a line across in some and others pictures look like one piece. That was a great review which makes me even more impatient!

They crashed it when they reviewed it, so I guess the gimbal could have cracked.

Watched this review last night and thought the same as you. But I don't believe it's cracked. If it were. I would think they'd bring it up

That was a nice video. I think the "crack" you see is probably just a junction, but we shall soon find out.

Look at any other close-up shots of the Mavic and you'll see a similar junction. It's weird that theirs is a little more jagged than I've seen, but that's likely a trick of the light.

Yup.  At 9:43 it looks like a crack to me.  If you crash drones... Sometimes they break.  That's life.

The gimbal appears to be cast aluminum.  I am not overly concerned.  If you are looking for a Nerf drone get a Sima drone.

thats the gimbal protection so it won't wobble with the bubble cover on it it has two type of protection one that plastic that holds the gimbal in its place, the bubble protective cover to use in flight...

That's completely not what the conversation is about. People are claiming the gimbal cracked in Flite Test's review. I'm pointing out that the same gap exists on all Mavics because it's a join between two parts. We're not discussing gimbal protection.

As I said...  I am not concerned this has any implications for durability.

After looking at several other videos and photos...  The "crack" observed at 9:43 in the video is simply a design feature of the gimbal.  It's just where two separate components are joined.  It's just a manufactured seam.

Confirmed looking at some other pictures of the Mavics out there that it is per of the design.

More concerning is the type of material it is made of. Plastic? Starting another thread.

The navel gazing in this thread is cracking me up. This is up there with the thread from the person deeply concerned with possible cable fatigue problems in the pivoting arm joints. Just silly.

I think theu convo has been had with all Phantoms and now the mavic. Someone sees a line in a video and assumes it is a crack.. No crack
